Family Eye Care

I would discourage anyone from using Dr. Bearden as an optometrist. It's so unfortunate to meet a healthcare professional that appears quite knowledgeable and yet exhibits such blatant unprofessionalism to her patients and staff. She vented to me throughout my exam as to how her current office is awful and the staff is terrible and she looks forward to leaving. She then recommended a follow up appointment but hinted it would be with another doctor given she's quitting. The reason for her anger? Her employee failed to alert her that I was awaiting consult and forgot to tell me to take my contacts out. It wasn't even that big of a deal! Then I had to wait some more as I heard her chewing out the poor staff member in the back instead of tending to me upon check out. So awkward and unsavory. I will not be going back.

Dr. Bearden is simply the best!!!! I have been seeing her for a few years now and I have never been to a better eye doctor. The technology she uses is amazing. I am going to college in the fall and I will not see any other eye doctor. I would fly home from Texas just to see her. THE BEST! Amazing staff, clean, and fun atmosphere. But, we can't forget about her candy and massage chairs.

Dr. Bearden have been an amazing help for me. Very dedicated and has wide knowledge about even the rarest eye disorders, illness and overalls vision problems. Thanks to her wide knowledge, dedication to her work and fast reaction my vision have been saved. She made all the possible exams and tests and with all of this she sent me to ER, thanks to that it helped doctors a lot to confirm the diagnosis and act fast. I very highly recommend her. Really she is amazing! Don't doubt to book an appointment with her even if it's just a regular eye exam! I'm so grateful to her!

Wow... where to begin? If I could give 6 stars I would. I never write reviews.. But I feel compelled to do so after the life changing experience I had after suffering from almost complete loss of vision in both eyes. Now, I want all you fellow googlers to know that I chose this establishment BECAUSE of the favorable GOOGLE reviews.. Lol I couldn't of be happier with that decision because it was an EMERGENCY and on a Saturday too. Within 10 minutes of hanging up I was able to see Doctor Bearden!!! Within 2 hours of my appointment Dr Bearden had diagnosed me with a disease called Posterior Uveitis. I found out later Posterior Uveitis is a rare disease, but yet Dr Bearden was able to almost immediately identify what was going on and to refer me to a Uveitis specialist a few miles away........she actually made the appointment with the specialist right there and then. Trust me on. this, Dr Bearden is heaven sent. Thanks to Dr. Bearden's referral and for prescribing me the correct medication I was later able to recover full vision in both eyes. She is a complete professional and an excellent physician. She treated me with the kind of attention you don't encounter very often. Nine times out ten, a doctor just wants to rush through the appointment, give you a prescription and send you on your way. This was not the case here. Dr Bearden goes over your diagnosis and gives you your options. She answers all your questions thoroughly. I've even called over the weekend and she has responded immediately and followed up to make sure my eyesight was fine. I highly recommend Dr. Bearden. 100% sending all my business here. Five stars.

I've worn contacts/glasses for over 30 years and having been going to Doc Bearden for close 5 years. She is without a doubt the best optometrist I had the pleasure of working with on my overly worked eyes!! Regardless of where I travel for work, I always return to Fort Lauderdale because she is the only I trust with taking care of my vision!!

I normally don't go out of my way to leave reviews, but after the exceptional service I received from Dr Dawn Bearden and her staff at @ Fort Lauderdale Eye Wear & Eye Care, I felt compelled to spread the word that Dr. Bearden is the bar for eye doctors...... True story......woke up one morning and couldn't see out of both eyes Almost 95% BLIND!!!! Frightening to say the least, but I waited for about 2 weeks before I sought out professional medical help after realizing my eye issues weren't allergy related. I'm a snow bird from Germany and new to the area and couldn't believe my luck when Siri from Google recommended, Dr Dawn Bearden on S. Federal Highway as the local neighborhood optometrist. Thank you Siri, I will be forever grateful for your guidance through my darkest hours. When I called Dr Bearden @ Fort Lauderdale Eye Wear & Eye Care I was greeted by such a friendly receptionist that helped me get a same day appointment with Dr Dawn. When I arrived I couldn't have been treated with more care. After numerous tests Dr Dawn Bearden was able to competently diagnose me with Posterior uveitis - a rare disease often associated with systemic diseases and infections. Posterior Uveitis isn't common, luckily Dr Bearden identified my needs and recommended a referral to a Uveitis specialist. Dr. Bearden is amazing and I have total trust in her. Extremely thorough, spends as much time with you as you need, and cares about you as if you are her only patient. For weeks afterwards, Dr Bearden continued to check up on me and the progress of my health. Thank you Dr Dawn for helping me through this nightmare. xxx

Dr. Bearden is very thorough in her eye care exams. It is through her extensive examination she was able to catch my husbands early stages of Macular Degeneration and quickly refer him to a specialist. Dr. Bearden often offers advice on how to prevent eye injury or issues relative to my disease. We feel secure in referring friends to her.

As a first time experience at the optometrist, I had no idea what to expect... This practice had so many thoughtful touches, with massage chairs and treats, play things for kids and adults to keep entertained, which I believe made it very unique and fun... The staff were absolutely wonderful (love Melissa <3) and Dr Beardon was very informative and professional. Needless to say I am very happy with my new specs, feels like a whole new me and I am loving it! I will be back ladies, thank you so much! Bianca xxx
