I got recommended this location and honestly I will never go anywhere else, they are super professional and friendly people. My glasses came in with a problem and they called me right away I told me that they came with a problem and they were sending it back to get fixed & 5 days later I got a call saying they were ready. Honestly, after paying a lot of money at other places for 20 years I have never been treated this well before. Highly recommended location.

My wife and I went to Express Vision Care optical, located at 1001 E 4th Ave, Hialeah, Florida 33010, for our annual eye exam. The exam showed changes in our vision prescription so we ordered new glasses. The order included frames and progressive polycarbonate lenses with photochromatic tint. They explained that our medical insurance wouldn't cover these costs, so we had to make an additional deposit. Express Vision Care claimed order's total cost to our insurance company. When we checked our medical insurance records, we saw that a significant portion of the total claim had been paid. So we visited the optical store to get back the portion of our deposit that hadn't been used. An employee told us that the amount shown in our insurance records was incorrect. We then filed a grievance to our medical insurance company, requesting a review and correction of our records, or confirmation of the payment for the amount shown. Our medical insurance company accepted the grievance, processed it, and responded in writing confirming that the amount shown was correct. We visited the optical store with this confirmation, but they refused to accept it; they insisted that the insurance company was wrong. At that moment, we knew we weren't going to get our money back... Retired people living on a fixed income and relying on their medical insurance coverage should be very careful. This optical store is shrewd and knows how to take advantage of the fact that several different entities are involved in the payment process... it's a very complicated issue. It has taken us almost 4 months of trying to sort this out. The only way to protect yourself is to know your rights. To do this, you must study and print out your current medical insurance coverage for vision care, which is explained in the Explanation of Benefits document. Visit the optical store with this knowledge and a printed copy. Review the cost estimate in detail and understand it, as many technical terms are used that can easily confuse you. If the optical store indicates that some parts of the order are not covered by your medical insurance, but the Explanation of Benefits states that they are covered, then it's time to decide what to do. You can either accept what the optical store says and pay the deposit, or you can leave and not complete the transaction. If you decide not to complete the transaction, before leaving, it's important to request a copy of the medical examination report, since optical store will likely bill your insurance company for it anyway. In any case, the selection of frames requires special attention: don't accept statements like "these are the frames covered by your medical insurance" but instead, ask for the price of each frame and write it down. In our case, we didn't take this precaution, and ordinary frames were billed as Deluxe frames. If you decide to do the transaction, you must request a detailed invoice for each part or item in the order, including the amount of the deposit. The optical store is simply being shrewd and taking advantage of the situation faced by retirees who rely on medical insurance... Therefore, the problem isn't the optical store side; the problem is the retired people side. The key is to visit the optical store prepared, without any rush, and ready to stand your ground. My daughter needed her yearly eye exam so I scheduled an appointment with EVC. Never been there before so I had no preconceived notions about service. Within minutes of arrival, we were interviewed and then a few minutes later my daughter was seen by the eye doctor. Nice man, it is very important to understand a child's fears and put them at ease and he did. They have a very nice selection of frames for children. They take insurance and Medicaid.
