Today I had my 1st visit at the Braverman Eye Center. So far my visit was good everyone is polite and helpful the girl (I did not catch her name) that check my vision to get new glasses was very patient and profecianal with me she took her time and I think did a wonderful job with me after I had my eyes dialate to be checked by the doctor she also was very polite, caring and professional she took her time with me explain everything top notch her and the whole staff from coming in the door till I left were wonderful. I also got my new eye glasses prescription also the lady in the store was very polite ,profecianal and friendly for me it was a very good experience from begging to end I will be back in two weeks to see another doctor. I will update this review then.
Wait times are routinely in excess of an hour. Communication is impossible - no one ever answers phones and office staff cannot answer simple non- medical questions, or they just can't be bothered to do so. There is no regard for patients' time or comfort. When you are finally called into an exam room, most routine exams are conducted by students who may, or more generally, may not know what they are doing. If you are not needing LASIK surgery, which I have no knowledge of, but regular eye health exams, go somewhere else!
PS: the eponymous Dr Braverman is retired or retiring.
The medical assistants were very courteous and respectful throughout my visit. However, my experience significantly declined when I met with the primary provider, Dr. Shalonda McCallum, OD. Upon her arrival, she asked if I spoke English, to which I responded "no." Despite this, she continued speaking to me exclusively in English and proceeded to question--quite abruptly and without offering assistance--why I had not brought a translator. Her tone was dismissive and disrespectful, which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
Additionally, Dr. McCallum issued a new eyeglass prescription with a notably lower correction than my previous one. Given that I had not experienced any improvement in my vision that would warrant such a change, I found this adjustment concerning. To verify, I sought a second opinion from another eye care professional, who also expressed confusion as to why my prescription had been reduced without clear clinical justification.
Based on this experience, both the lack of cultural and linguistic sensitivity and the questionable clinical decision, I cannot recommend this practice and would advise others to consider alternative providers.
I would not return to this office if you paid me. Staff was unattentive to people waiting. I went for eye exam for new glasses and all i got after 3 1/2 hours was a test for glaucoma. Had to make another appointment for exam. Just cancalled it. I don't want to return. Shame on Dr. Brave man for this miss service his way to line his pockets with insurance monies
Went through the other day saw a student doctor in the beginning then I saw the doctor. He told me there's nothing wrong with my eyes. I have good perfect vision. I can't read a book and I see floaters running around. He says I don't have them I don't think they really Know what they're doing. I won't go back. I need to find a new doctor that can tell me really what's going on you too shouldn't waist your time
Trying to get to speak to a person is almost impossible, round and round you go. They charge my insurance enough you would think they could have 1 delicate phone operator. I'd rather be on the hold for 20 minutes as oppose not being able to speak to anybody other than the computer or voicemail.
My visit here today gets a very bad and unhappy review .... My grandmother utilizes oxygen and has a portable tank to carry to appointments. She had a 10:30am appointment so we arrived at 10:15am. I patiently waited but noticed that the tank was reaching the refill line, so I approached the receptionist at 11:30am and informed her of the situation, then again at 11:47am, as my inquiry and request to speak with the office manager went unanswered. Then to add to the frustration, I heard the young lady in the photo attached, respond in a very uncaring response stating that "she was only one person". Of course that set me off so I begin to demand to see the office manager and stated to the young lady that her response was totally unacceptable and inhumane because she didn't even care nor took any attempts to avoid my hearing her. I work in property management so I am very familiar with appointments and scheduling, which was not the issue. The issue was how my informing them of the oxygen tank situation, was handled in an uncaring, unprofessional manner. Especially, considering these are all medical staff members who took an oath to provide needed medical care if necessary. And for the young lady in the photo attached and Dr. McCallum(who didn't even greet us, nor introduced herself as she walked in to examine my grandmother), I pray that you both grasp a better way to address the patients that visit this facility because your behavior reflects on the facility as a whole. I'm gonna end this review by saying thank you to Heva, Rick and Marsha, for providing good service to my grandmother, your professionalism is greatly appreciated. I pray that our next visit ends with a better review.

Don't go here as it is unsafe. Allegedly, my friend was SA'd while getting an eye examination done. She has been depressed since her visit and I hope this place shuts down, or at least some licenses are revoked.
