West Coast Eye Institute

One of the shoddiest run medical office I have ever had been to. Visited on 3 different occasions and the time from appointment to being seen ranged from 40 minutes to over an hour. It seems like the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. Dr. Freeland was great for his part but the staff definitely needs to be spoken to or replaced. A month later I received a bill for 3 of the visits. Medicare and my coinsurance paid most of the first bill and then the second charge was the full bill without either insurance. I called and the person I spoke to said, oops, they marked it as self pay and didn't file. More than enough incompetence for me to handle. Seeing a new practice!

Very disappointed. Had a 330 appt made a year ago. Check in early. Waiting for tech. After a hour and two people being seen before me with later appt. They had no anwser. We are sorry we dont know what happened. Very poor. Customer service no wonder they have a 3.7 rating

Very greatful for Dr.Freeland and staff for getting me seen on a same day emergency especially since it was during the holidays. Dr.freeland is very knowledgeable and caring and to the point. Thank you!

Hello... I called to make an appointment and see if they took my insurance she said that they didn't and would not accept me as a patient at all, stating that if I was on state insurance I shouldn't have money to pay for my eyes.. so for this being said I'm on state through my social security disability and I'm able to pay ... It was absolutely disgraceful an uncouth and will be reporting this to the better Business bureau... It's sad that this world is becoming like this and people are so nasty thank you for your valuable time

My mother recommended Dr Freeland to me when I was having some concerns about an issue that was not clearing up for one of my eyes and the staff at WCE promptly fit me in for an appointment to be seen. I was able to review health questions in advance conveniently via phone and the lovely front staff made intake fast and easy on the day. I felt my exam was comprehensive and Dr Freeland listened to all my concerns before reassuring me all was well for now. I would definitely recommend WCE and Dr Freeland for excellent care.

I had a 2:00 appointment, my wife appointment was at 2:20. It's now 4:20 and we are still here!!! They are polite but the good words end here. They seem to nickle and dime you for everything ( except it's $20 and $50, not .05 and .10). I'm no expert on eye doctors but I sure won't be coming back here!

Dr Freeland is a great doctor. His front of house staff not so much. Today I had an eye exam appointment. I get there and they tell me my appointment was changed to tomorrow- no one called me to tell me that. Then they made me a new appointment for later today at another office (Lecanto). 20 minutes later I get a call from the Lecanto office saying the Inverness office wasn't allowed to make that appointment. What a disaster!

They called my wife and spent a half hour on the phone getting new patient info just to have her fill out all of the same information herself upon arrival. Why waste the time on the phone if you are going to collect that information anyway? High self pay rates will update if results justify high price. I selected this place due to proximity and availability.
