Steer clear of this place. Office is under new ownership. I took my daughter in for her annual exam. She saw Hyrum Wahlquist. He began the exam as usual and asked her to read letters on the board. When she said she could not read them, he said to her "just guess"! As incredible as that sounds, I swear that is what he said. She left with a prescription and some contacts they charged her for, which she could not see with at all. We called back a few days later, and they told her to come back. He saw her again, and this time gave her a second prescription that was wildly different from the first one he gave. We took it home and tried it, and she still could not see. At that point, we took her to another eye doctor. When he examined her, he told us he had no idea how Wahlquist had come up with his numbers. The real numbers ended up being completely different from either of the first 2 scripts from Wahlquist. In addition, he let us know she had astigmatism. Wahlquist didn't even note that on one of the prescriptions at all. He said he didn't know how you could miss something like that. After getting the correct prescription, I called Vision Center South back to tell them about the trouble we had, and that we ended up having to go to a second doctor to get a correct prescription. I told them they should refund the money for our visit, as well as the contacts they sold us that were the wrong strength, since we could not use them. The office manager told me that they would not refund us because they did complete the exam. She said it did not matter that the eye doctor did it incorrectly or sold us contacts we could not use. What a horrible way to run a business, especially a health related business. Beware of this place!

The staff and Doctor were lovely here. They moved me through the office with ease and purpose and were very professional, from the front desk to the eyewear consultant. The eyewear consultant was so kind and helpful. She knew what she was doing and made choosing my glasses which is hard for me an absolute breeze. Thank you all for your care!!

New to the area. Check in was great. Maci pre exam was great. Dr Wahlquist exam was great. Got a prescription and needed help choosing a new pair of glasses. Avery was not helpful at all. No interest in showing me what was available in my price range. (Mid range frame, mid range lens). Very dissatisfied with her customer service. I purchased a $700 pair of glasses and left wondering if I had made the right decision. Again all other staff and doctor were great. We will see if it is any better when I pick my glasses up.

I could not recommend this place enough. I've had chronic issues with my vision since my accident 8 years ago. I haven't found anyone to actually take the time to help me get what I need, time after time I could never get my glasses to fit correctly. Sometimes they would be so tight on my face it would give me headaches, then they were crooked, it was just always something. That was until I found Vision Center South in Marianna. I was first greeted by Lexie. She was so sweet. A lady named Robie checked on me as I was walking around waiting to be helped. She really seemed to care about my needs and wanted to make sure I was being assisted. Then I met a girl Avery and she worked very diligently to make sure my glasses were fitted correctly. I couldn't recommend this place enough! I never felt like a bother and it seemed like these people really and truly cared about my needs. I haven't had an issue with my glasses yet! It's so nice to finally get some relief and not have to worry about visiting another Dr. office to wonder if my glasses won't fit correctly. I know these kind people will always take care of me. Go check them out. You will not be disappointed!

Amazing doctor and staff! They're fun and extremely knowledgeable. It's a busy office, but it does not reflect on the time spent here. They take the time to answer all your questions and still get you in and out fast.

The staff are awesome if you have issues of any kind... Wrong lenses? 1 week fixed.... Frames aren't comfortable for all day wear? Easy peasy exchange. The best team members are Robbie, falyn, averie....

Fell and severely bent my glasses. Dropped in the office and they fixed them right then and there! They even fit my face better than before! I greatly appreciate the staff for going out of their way to help me out.

Dr. Wahlquist and his staff are great with my 8 year old daughter. She had to get glasses for the first time and they made the process go smoothly.
