Center For Excellence In Eye Care

I was scheduled for an appointment at the West Kendall Baptist office location today, Monday, July 21, 2025, at 8:40 am. I arrived at the office at 8:25 a.m., and it was CLOSED. A funny thing is that when I walked in, the security guard said, 'You're here to see the eye doctor?' And I responded, "Yes." He then said, "I think they are closed, but go ahead and check just in case." I proceeded upstairs and found another patient waiting in the hallway for the office to open. I waited until 9:00 am, and the office never opened. I spoke to the other patient, and he was scheduled for 8:30 am. Both of us received a confirmation call on Friday, July 18th, advising us of our appointment. At NO point in time did anyone from the office call, email, or text us to advise that they needed to cancel or reschedule the appointment due to the office being closed. This is unprofessional and demonstrates a lack of detail, communication, and responsibility on the part of the office. I will NOT reschedule with them. How ironic, the name of the practice is "Center of Excellence in Eye Care"; you are far from excellence. If you call the aforementioned excellence, then you are in a world of trouble. I hope this review is read not only by the office manager or administrator but also by the owners or partners of this practice.

Worst place ever. After more than a month with a scheduled appointment and a couple of calls to confirm the appointment. someone calls the day before to inform that they don't take Humana Medicaid. The people working there don't care for for the care of others. they are just a bunch of inepts. I see the owner is grateful for the 5 star reviews. I wonder what he do with the 1 star reviews.

Imposible to get these people on the phone. On hold for 45 minutes at my eye glasses place just to ask them to Fax over my prescription and to make an appointment. And I still was not able to speak with anyone. Update: I finally was able to get my appointment, I show up, and they had booked it for a whole different location after I specifically asked for my normal location. They are never seeing my face again.

Today I went to my appointment . I am very happy with my a doctor , but this assistant Maria Ferrer is very unprofessional, very rude and in need of training on how to talk to a patient I personally don't want to deal with her never again. Saw Dr. Shulman for the first time, i haven't seen an opthamologist since 2017...he is kind, listens, answers questions thoroughly and takes his time doing whatever he must do to you. I was seen right away, the staff are kind too. I finally have hope that my eyes will get better.

Excellent doctors....the worst phone system in the world. Impossible to get thru to conduct business. That said, outstanding medical care from doctors. Some of the staff are rude but they are over tasked.
