Dr. Maria L. Casas

I scheduled an eye exam at LensCrafters inside Macy's at Miami International Mall and left feeling genuinely disappointed, uncomfortable, and honestly disrespected. With this "doctor" Dr. Maria Casas. The receptionist was warm and welcoming, and I was actually excited for this appointment. I've been wanting a new pair of glasses for a while, and this visit was meant to be a thoughtful Valentine's Day gesture from my girlfriend. What should have been a positive experience quickly turned tense and unpleasant. From the very beginning of the exam, the optometrist's tone felt impatient and dismissive. I was asked what was wrong with my eyes, and I explained that I don't have any known issues, just that one eye seems slightly stronger than the other. Instead of guiding the process in a professional and reassuring way, the response felt confrontational. When I accidentally covered the wrong eye, I was corrected sharply. When reading the chart, if I hesitated or couldn't clearly make out a line, I was spoken to in a frustrated tone and told to "focus on one letter," as though struggling to see during an eye exam was an inconvenience. That moment stood out. Patients come in precisely because they cannot see clearly. Being made to feel embarrassed or pressured for not getting letters right defeats the entire purpose of the visit. The exam felt rushed and mechanical. There was no effort to explain what was being done, no adjustment in tone to ease the situation, and no sense of care. The room felt tense. I left feeling small, uncomfortable, and unwelcome. What makes this more concerning is that after reading other reviews, I noticed similar feedback about impatience and attitude. When multiple patients describe the same experience over time, that is not a misunderstanding. That is a pattern. I paid out of pocket for this appointment. I work hard for my money, and I expect basic professionalism and respect in return. Clinical knowledge is important, but bedside manner is not optional. How you treat patients matters. This experience did not reflect the standard one would expect from a brand associated with LensCrafters and Luxottica. Unfortunately, because of this interaction, I will not be returning. I was better off with my family eye Doctor in Hialeah. Dr. Munoz. He's amazing. Save your $135 eye exam cost with these people and go else where that do deserve your money. I hope management takes patient experience seriously.

What a wonderful team! I took my daughter who is 6 after a not so oleasent experience at another optometrist. Dr. Casas and her were welcoming, patient, and a safe space for my daughter's first eye exam.

I loved her! She was great. Very accommodating considering there was a million people with appointments. She was also very elaborate and clear and honestly hilarious as well. She definitely lightens the mood, gives great recommendations and is very helpful.

They were friendly, professional, and helpful. My experience at the optometrist's office was excellent. The staff was welcoming and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire visit. The doctor was knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me in a clear and understandable way.

Excellent visit with Dr.Maria. she was thorough and patient. Both of my teenagers were seeing by her and they both absolutely love her. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

The experience is very satisfactory, the staff that works with the doctor is very professional and pleasant in their treatment, Dr. Casas is an excellent professional, her office has very good technology in terms of equipment, she takes her time and explains the procedures and the results, I have been seeing her for more than five years, I recommend her responsibly.

Dr. Maria Casas was very thorough during the examination. She was well versed and knowledgeable concerning my specific issue. Also, the other staff members were experienced and attentive to providing excellent customer service. I purchased two pair of glasses during my visit. I was very impressed and please with the service and attention to details I received. As a result of my visit Dr. Maria Casas has earned my confidence and trust. I'm glad to say I have a new doctor to protect my eyes. Thank you Dr. Casas and staff.

First time I went it appeared the doctor was more friendly but this time around I felt as though she was just trying to get rid of me as quickly as possible. I came back thinking I would get the same quality care I received the first time around but there wasn't the case. I felt uncomfortable and rushed throughout my sit down with the optometrist. This will be my last time going to this optometrist. The assistant who performed the routine eye exam was great however.
