Houghton Stephen OD

Dr Houghton has been my OD for 20 years! When my family came to this country from Germany and our English wasn't perfect he was respectful and made sure to take care of us every year since then. From first pair of glasses to color contacts during my childhood to now being able to be my daughters OD. Full circle moment

Recently visited For Eyes and saw Dr. Stephen Houghton. From start to finish, my experience was amazing. Sarah went above and beyond -- she took the time to help both me and my partner find the perfect frames and was so attentive throughout the process. Mary Lou was the sweetest! Honestly the entire staff was exceptional ! Dr. Houghton's expertise really showed; he explained everything so clearly and made us feel completely at ease. You can tell he truly cares about both his staff and his patients. I wouldn't go anywhere else and would recommend him any day!

I'm a patient at Dr. Houghton's office for many years, and I'm always impressed by the professionalism and care from everyone. They make sure you're fully taken care of every step of the way. Special thanks to MaryLou, Dr. Houghton's assistant, for her kindness and attention to detail, and to Dr. Houghton for his expert care. Truly a friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful team. Amazing staff there. Every single person there was delightful. The Optometrist there Dr. Houghton was amazing. He explained everything we were doing and why. He was helpful in giving me exactly what I needed even though I wasn't sure how to explain what my issue was. He figured it out and left me feeling like a million bucks. If you need to see an Optometrist. Dr. Stephen Houghton is your man.

First time having my kids see Dr. Houghton, and he was GREAT!! He was awesome with the kids. Loved how honest he was. The staff was very friendly as well. Highly recommend him, you won't be disappointed.

I was really pleased that Dr. Houghton was able to give me an Rx for glasses close to what I'd gotten years ago. The doc who'd prescribed my glasses about 10 years ago had since retired and my records had been destroyed. Fortunately For Eyes next door still had my Rx from my last order and pretty soon I walked out with a prescription that will not over-power me when I drive.

I pay for insurance and spent $125 for a simple eye exam. Spent 20min there and left. I felt robbed. 6 months later i went elsewhere to purchase glasses using Dr. Houghtons prescription and his office actually billed my insurance for glasses i didnt purchase. Someone should audit these people.

Dr. Houghton at For Eyes in Kendall was very rude, condescending and very unprofessional towards my daughter and myself. I have never been treated in this manner by a medical professional. I will NEVER go back to him. He is a terrible optometrist and should retire!!
