Extremely disappointing experience. I do not recommend Eye Centers of South Florida.
I was referred to this practice by Dr. Edelstein at Optical World in Aventura because of a concern he noticed during an exam. From the very first phone call, I was met with unprofessionalism. The woman who answered didn't introduce herself and immediately asked what insurance I had before anything else. That left a sour taste in my mouth, but I proceeded because I needed to see a specialist.
At my first appointment, after undergoing a battery of tests, Dr. Srur gave me a prescription for dry eyes and scheduled a follow-up. She asked me why I had been referred, and I explained that I wasn't exactly sure; Dr. Edelstein had simply wanted a specialist to evaluate me as a precaution. I asked if she could call him to clarify, and she said she would make a note to do so.
At the second visit, I was again asked the same question about why I was referred--clearly, no one had followed up. To make matters worse, a test that Dr. Srur had ordered wasn't performed by the staff, and by that time, my eyes had already been dilated, making it too late. I was asked to return once again.
At my third appointment earlier today, I arrived at 8:15 a.m. for an 8:30 a.m. slot after driving an hour from Miami Beach. I was called in around 8:40, only to be asked once again why I had been referred. I expressed my frustration--it was the third time I'd had to answer this and the third time I reminded the office that they were supposed to call. Then I was informed that the test for which I was scheduled wasn't available and needed to be restocked. No one had the courtesy to call me ahead of time to let me know. I asked to speak with Dr. Srur, but despite the appointment being at 8:30 and now it was closer to 9:00, she wasn't even there yet.
That was the final straw. I canceled the appointment and requested my records. I will not be returning.
From the moment I made the first call, I was treated like an insurance case rather than a patient. The lack of communication, the repeated failure to follow through, and the total disregard for my time and concerns are inexcusable. I wasted hours and was treated with a complete lack of courtesy or professionalism.
If you're looking for a competent, respectful, and well-managed eye care provider, I recommend looking elsewhere.
**Exceptional Care and Expertise**
I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Hoffman and his team . From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The staff is friendly, professional, and efficient, making the entire process seamless.
Dr. Hoffman is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything thoroughly, ensuring I understood my diagnosis and treatment options. Their attention to detail and genuine care for my eye health was truly impressive.
The clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, which gave me confidence in the accuracy of my exam and the quality of care. Whether you're going in for a routine check-up or a more complex issue, I highly recommend Eye Centers of South Florida. They go above and beyond to provide top-notch care!
Eye centers of south Florida front desk lady careless of the patients, she felt to acknowledged the fact that without the patients; there is no business. I was ignored as a patient, which led to me not having my meds to put in my eyes for over two weeks; no one cares to do any follow ups. Nor return any messages, instead I was being mistreated for no reason whatever; it was a nightmare for me up until today by the grace of God.
There is still a few good folks still living on this earth, doctor Montenegro was not aware of the situation; as soon he found out. He made it right, i had a very bad experienced ; being mistreated. As a result, I will not go back there again as a patient; nor refer anyone for care. As human beings deserved to be treated with kindness, respect, and dignity. Something this front desk person lack of. Well, the doctor did righteous by me, as courteousy it's only fair that i do do the same by him in return; there is a God. He does not like ugliness ever, thks for reading; Gblss.
I've been to this place multiple times and I was treated great each time until today. (December 12th 2023, I was there from 3 pm)
I stopped by to get the PD measurement for my glasses prescription and was told it's just 5 minutes. After wait for 25 minutes I went to ask the receptionist on the front desk when can be help. She did even bother to look at me and mumbled something like "I left your chart at the doctor's desk". I thought she was talking to one of her colleagues about something else (because usually polite people look at you when you talk to them unless they have autism and she clearly didn't have it (because my son is on the spectrum so I know) so I repeated my question explaining that I might not be able to wait too long because I have to pick up my son after school. She did not look at me, she just ignored me pure and simple. To say that I was shocked with this level of rudeness and unprofessionalism is to say nothing.
I'm so disappointed that a nice clinic like that has such a rude person working ON THE FRONT DESK!!! If she has problem in her person life she should still be professional at work. She supposed to be the FACE of the company not not it's behind. After the visit I called back and ask for the name of that woman and I've been told it's Christina, she is a white middle aged female. Doctors and nurses are absolutely nice and very professional. So 2 stars less for the front desk disaster.
This is the first time in 20 years in Miami I'm leaving a negative review. This is a "special occasion" indeed.

At their suggestion, I booked my follow up appointment, a month in advance, with Dr. Diaz. I confirmed my appointment both, by phone call and email. Still I received a phone call at 5:15 p.m., the day before to cancel my appointment. The reason provided was that the doctor was overbooked for the day. He had too many appointments and could not see me! I explained that I had taken the day off from work in order to be there for my appointment. Then the lady replied: "He won't be able to see you. He has two emergencies. You will have to re-schedule for next month." Really? I don't think so. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. Not even an apology!
I had my second visit for a visual field, it was wonderful! Dr.Diana and her staff are amazing, very professional and warm, they explained everything to make sure I felt always comfortable.
I think is it also worth to mention that this time the ladies at the front desk were really friendly and kind which made the whole visit even better.
My first visit was everything you would hope for. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and efficient. The student who handled the testing, Eric, was amazing, knowledgeable, professional calming and friendly. Dr. Shechman was also friendly and professional. My wait time was short, the visit easy and stress free.
You are without a doubt, it is the worst experience that a person could have had. Starting with the person who attends the place did not appear for a long time and once he arrived at his work station, he told me that only for the consultation they charge $300 without giving any further response.
