I initially went into eyeglass world about a week ago. I made it very clear that my budget was a little under $300. Especially when they told me they no longer take my insurance.
Knowing that getting two pair of glasses for $99 or even $199. Is their gimmick just to get you in the door.
So I pick out the glasses that I wanted AKA frames. They were $100 but now it's time to sit down at the desk and go over your prescription. (Hopefully you have one or that's another $50 bucks.) The employee tells me that I can pick out another frame for free. She probably charged me another hundred bucks. Because she works off of commission? All I wanted on both glasses was plastic lenses with my prescription. No extras. Remember I wanted to keep my budget under $300. I purchase my glasses and leave. I get a phone call saying that one of the pairs of glasses have to have glass. They both can't be plastic, the ones I picked out have to be glass. I was told it would be around an extra $75. Now we're up to $375
Yesterday I go in to pick up my glasses. And I am told that it is going to be an extra $120. So now we're up to $420 this is all out of pocket. Since they no longer take my insurance. My glasses were made and ready to go. I kind of felt like they held me hostage with the extra $120. Then they told me that they had to put glass in both of them. And that I was paying the difference. The free pair is still plastic and the pair that I wanted is glass. It was a total car salesman experience.
I've been coming here for a few years now and was disappointed with the last few visits. This one in particular for today, I was picking up glasses that I had new lenses on, and I was going to drop off another set for new lenses.
I sat at the back while another gentlemen got his glasses fitted, once he was done the guy working at the corner ignored me and started making outbound calls to pick up glasses.
A lady walked by, asked if I had been helped and I explained I was picking up and dropping off. She was nice enough to get my glasses but told me I needed to wait for the new lenses because they were busy, but she works make sure I was on the list to be seen.
30+ minutes later, I left.. there were two people on the floor assisting customers purchasing glasses etc at the start of this ordeal. One finished up but never took another customer that I could tell and when we walked out she was sitting there at a desk and watched us walk out without so much as a word said.
As much as I liked this store before, that's it for me. Plenty of other places to go that have better service.
Overall- I had a great experience with Eyeglass World! To begin, Matthew offered great patient service, was very attentive, and was very kind! His positive attitude and willingness to help others was what made him stand out most. I was greeted with professionalism by Eyeglass World and would highly recommend!
My experience at Eyeglass World West Colonial was amazing. Ed has top tier customer service and is always looking out for the customer. In fixing my son's nose pads he noticed the lens were scratched and ordered the new pair of lens, I will always go back for my Optical care.
I went to EyeGlass World in Ocoee to pick up my father's glasses, which I was told would be ready after 4:00 PM. When I arrived, the office was extremely busy. Two optometrists were clearly overwhelmed, trying to manage a full room of patients on their own.
What was frustrating was that the office manager was sitting behind the counter on her cell phone, not assisting staff or patients in any way. When I approached her, she was dismissive and rude, and showed no concern for the long wait times or the overwhelmed providers.
This experience felt unprofessional and poorly managed. Customer service and teamwork matter, especially in a medical office. Unfortunately, this visit left a very negative impression.
Joey and the team were my heroes when I accidentally sent my glasses to Davy Jones' Locker on a family vacation. I came limping in, desperate and squinting with an expired prescription, and they were able to squeeze me in for an exam between patients and make my glasses within a couple hours. I even found a couple pairs that adequately fit my super narrow head and they gave me two for the price of one. Many thanks to everyone here!
There are two individuals who deserve special recognition for their exceptional service. The first is a compassionate female optometrist, whose name I unfortunately cannot recall. We appreciate her greatly because she is motherly, patient, and genuinely attentive to her patients' needs.
The second, and arguably the best, is a bright and talented man named Ted. Ted recently transitioned to this location after nearly twenty years working at the Vision Center in Ocoee's Walmart, which, unfortunately, has now become quite corrupt. We're all glad he's moved on from that environment to this new facility, where we hope that he is highly valued.
Many of us have known Ted since childhood, and it warms our hearts to see him at this particular location. Speaking of this location, it has a high turnover rate, so I strongly urge the owner of this facility to never let such a remarkable person go. Ted is intelligent, caring, dependable, and an upright character who deserves far more recognition and opportunities than even he may see.
Juan was absolutely amazing! He was incredibly professional, kind, and went above and beyond to help us. He took the time to recommend the best options, making sure we had everything we needed. His customer service was top-notch, and it was clear he truly cares about his work. Overall, we had such a great experience thanks to him. If you're looking for someone who knows what they're doing and treats customers with respect, Juan is the best! Highly recommend!
