Bird Eye Institute

I was kinda skeptical after reading negative reviews, but I had a pleasant experience. I arrived before my appointment and was quickly seen. Front desk girls were nice. The assistant that did my exam was nice as well. A lot of places now have assistants doing all the work, I don't mind that. (Since someone complained below) Don't believe the negative reviews, go in and you be the judge. Def will recommend this place. Update 3/26: waited two weeks for my glasses and no one ever told me they were ready until I CALLED, to only get a call the next day saying they didn't have them. I went into the actual office and they DID have them. Communication not that great. Only bad thing is that you can never contact the office directly i always get some other office and then they say "I call the office for you". Other than this bad part it was all around well at this Hiawassee office.

Doctor bird came to my appointment 1hour and 43 mins late.... Didn't acknowledge me(the patient) who's also a mental health patient and decided to get in my husbands face screaming and causing a scene leading me to having a panic attack. All because my husband simply greeted him and stated that he thought Dr.Bird was at a family emergency and was thinking we should reschedule. He got up and tried to get in my husband face while my husband was sitting there confused. Doctor bird proceeded to ignore me telling him to stop it's a misunderstanding , continued telling my husband where he can go, and walked out of MY appointment. Mind you I had punctal plugs put in a month before this was my follow up and my eyes were worse. The pressure behind my left eye was 22 and full of mucus, only to wait almost 2 hours to be ignored and verbally assaulted by him. He doesn't do anything as an eye doctor his techs do everything. Honestly in my opinion he is not a great person in general. The atmosphere of the office is racist and dirty. The seats are so close and the room capacity is too small for the amount of people coming in which is unsafe. No one at the front has any kind of service skill just simply hired because they're Spanish. In fact I felt uncomfortable every time I went there being pushed off on techs instead of being serviced by the Doctor you booked and pay money to for service. Baldwin park location btw

Our visit was with Dr. Bird was a follow up. Our appointment time was 9:15am waited until 10:20am he wasn't even in the office. Jacey was very nice and helpful however the dr is not worth the wait. Unless you have time to block 2-4 hours of time per appointment you book. Also if you don't mind being in a small packed office with people who don't actually keep masks on

My husband and I came here the first time to have yearly eyes check after we moved to Orlando, it's so close to our home, so we wanted to give them a try. Staffs were nice, however I didn't feel professional that not the doctor but the assistant to do the eye check. Doctor only went through the report with me and did the dilation. It's the first time ever in my whole life that assistant did the eye check. Also they don't have much glasses collection to choose from, I believe they are more focus on contact and surgery but eye check.

Dr.Franco great doctor however I do not recommend because their service in the front end is terrible. Bad reception because I was told that I was gonna get a call back multiple times and never received it. I was told that they tried to call me so I can pickup my glasses but never got a phone call. Upon picking up my glasses, the worker said there was no issue with it but I felt a discomfort on my face when it came to putting them on and it differed from trying the frame on beforehand. The worker then tried to fix it but broke it and said that she would send it to the labs to be fixed. When I came back, the issue was still there but there was an additional problem that the worker caused once more saying that the lab will fix it. I then tried coming back to see if the issue was resolved but it turned out it didn't and now I was recieving attitude from the worker saying that there is no problem and I can't get a refund. Thanks Jennifer for making Birds Eye a months long fight for my glasses.

Wait time is extremely long. Waited over an hour to be seen. Why schedule appointments if you cannot keep it. They are all about packing patients in overlapping them. Seems like it's all about money not care. Visited twice and both times were over an hour wait.

Just don't waste your time. Staff is rude, they have zero clue about customer service. Never on time for appointments. Have at least two hours to spare in waiting area until they call your name. Oh, and don't make the mistake to walk out without your scripts. They will never fax it to the right pharmacy.

I was told an order would be placed for my contacts twice before they finally did place an order for my contacts then they lost my contacts between locations so I went like two months without. To placate me I was given a sample pair that was unfortunately deformed and did not fit my eye. Every time I try to go back the doctor happens to be on vacation and the location is closed. I went in April 14th and still have not received my contacts. Its July.
