LONG AND WORTH YOUR READ - I sought upper Blepharoplasty because the overhanging eyelids were starting to affect my vision. After consultation, Dr. Haas confirmed that the upper would be covered by insurance and qualified as 'Medically necessary'. He recommended that, while I was under, and the surgical fees were covered by the upper lid, I may as well do the lower lids, so I could get that done while insurance covered the surgical center. Made sense, and I wrote the big check for $5000+. I signed a pre-op preauthorization stating my fees and that I would owe the surgical center $600 the morning of surgery for my part. I came prepared with my check and was excited to get it done. The morning of surgery, they tried to collect $2800, which I ended up paying. I later learned that Dr. Haas's team had never submitted my claim to my Blue Cross Insurance at all. Which is why the surgery center could not comp the lower lid portion. I learned this when I went to the emergency room on a separate need later that quarter. I found that I had paid ZERO of my deductible, even though I thought I had it ALL paid at Dr. Haas's. Their financial practices are very "under the table". Next up on the horrendous experience is waking up twice during surgery. I told the wonderful anesthesiologist prior to going under that I am labeled an 'early waker' in that I process drugs quickly with a healthy liver. I've woken up on surgical tables multiple times in my life, and I am required to tell you that so that you can take appropriate measures to keep me sedated. INSTEAD, I woke up twice, verbally crying out for more sedation. The first time, Dr. Haas was struggling with my right eye's brown bone. He spoke to me and said, "Hang in there," and directed the team to give me more meds. The second time I woke, I asked the nurse to let me see the glob they took out from under my right eye. She showed it to me on a pair of long tweezers. She and I laughed and stated that it looked like chicken fat. They put me back under, and I woke up later in post-op op where I discussed the twice waking with my post op nurse and the anesthesiologist. I returned to the office for a post op visit quickly because my right eyeball was entirely bloodshot, and I looked more traumatized than my sister, who had the same procedures in Minnesota two weeks prior. I shared with Dr. Haas how disappointed I was that he let me wake up during surgery, as it was a disturbing and unnecessarily painful experience. My husband was present and witnessed the gaslighting when Dr. Haas declared, "That did not happen." And behaved defensively, repeating that it just did not happen. In all, I had about 6 office visits. During those visits, there was a dark, anxiety-like vibe at their office, as if the staff was on pins and needles, afraid of Dr. Haas. It was consistent and weird. Surely not inviting or warm. Between the experience itself, his narcissistic bedside manner, and the questionable financial practices, I would give them ZERO stars, if possible. Here I include my before and 3-month after, as well as the 1-year photo. I waited to make my review until today, so that I could speak from a more balanced opinion. As you can see from the attached photo, in one year, the right eye that he had trouble with has fallen already. While I would likely still recommend investing in these procedures, I would NOT spend $8400 uncovered by insurance again. And I would definitely NOT recommend this doctor. He has seen better days. If he could not polish his people skills in all these years, he should call it quits. I thought I would at least leave with a prescription for driving glasses. However, the young lady who did my exam stated that she could not confidently get an accurate prescription for me. So I left without one. My career is in healthcare. I know there are many fabulous, reputable physicians who do ethical and marvelous work with a bedside manner worthy of your trust and business. It is a business. Spend your money where you are valued and treated so.

My husband was seen at the Eye Boutique because he has a history eye problems which have led him to experience excessive drainage from his eyes. This visit was on June 25, 2020 and I took pictures were taken on that date around 3:20 PM. Yesterday 7/6/20 my husband returned to have his tear ducts dilated. According to Dr. Haas the procedure was unsuccessful. He then rushed my husband into making a surgical appointment for 7/15/20. After forty-five years we consult with each other before making treatment decisions but despite my request to be included, we were not given that opportunity. He was also scheduled for a CT Scan for 7/9/20. Because my husband was uncomfortable with the rapid scheduling and had unanswered questions he asked that I cancel all of his appointments which I did on yesterday once the surgical scheduler, Jared, returned from lunch. This morning my husband received a call from the office of Dr Haas and was subsequently connected with him. The call was on speaker and I heard Dr. Haas ask for me. He also asked why the appointment was canceled. My husband told him he was uncomfortable with having the procedure at this time. Dr. Haas was quite forceful in his speech and began to name dire consequences of the 'infection' he now claims is present. No antibiotic was prescribed but on the aao.org website this excerpt is found: Written By: Kierstan Boyd Reviewed By: Stephen N Lipsky MD Oct. 14, 2015 Sometimes, more than one treatment or procedure is needed before a blocked tear duct is fully opened. If an infection is suspected, your doctor will likely prescribe antibiotics. We can not recommend.this practice based on my husband's direct experience or the manner in which Dr. Haas spoke to me this morning. He was quite arrogant and began speaking at the top of his voice when I mentioned the condition of his office and lack of his staff wearing masks. The pictures verifing lack of social distancing and improper use of masks are below

My husband was referred to this doctor by a friend. We really had our hopes since the friend has TEDs (thyroid eye disease) & he helped her resolve them. It was completely a bust for us. A money grab for sure. Wanted to do surgery. No thanks. Charged for a bunch of stuff that ended up to be for eye mites which later he was told he didn't even have! The new prescription he got ended up being wrong. My poor husband has tried for 4 months to make his new glasses work. We went to another eye doctor today & for the last week they have been trying to get his records sent. The receptionist was on the phone multiple times with them & nothing was ever sent. We DEFINITELY do NOT recommend this Doctor.

I am absolutely thrilled with the results of my ptosis repair surgery performed by Dr. Haas. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. Dr. Haas is not only incredibly skilled but also genuinely caring, taking the time to explain the procedure and address all of my concerns. I'm very happy with how everything turned out. The results have been nothing short of amazing! Both of my eyes now look symmetrical and natural, exactly what I wanted. His work is truly exceptional, and I couldn't be more pleased. Highly recommend!

I've been treated by Dr Haas over the past two years, first for a dry eye condition, and most recently for cataracts. The results have been fantastic. I never realized the problems caused in my eyesight by the 'dry eye' condition --- but the outcome has been great - I've never had less eye strain and can see better than ever. Last month we did cataract surgery and had correcting lenses implanted --- once again perfect results, I can now see 20-20 without glasses. Love it! Very knowledgeable doctor with great support team.

Totally dissatisfied. Unprofessional service rendered at this office. I went for a cataract assessment and looking to have it removed and having an insertion of lenses . Receptionist assured me I will not be charged with additional 65 dollars related to an exam for prescription glasses. And to sign the form anyway as a formality. Be aware!!! At the end of the 2 hour wait and a brief exam done by a technician and 5 minutes with Dr Haas. It was determined I had to come back for another exam. Which I was making an appointment for but then a different receptionist wanted to charge me the additional 65 for a test a did not need since I did not go for prescription glasses. Totally ignored the oral agreement the receptionist let me to believe. A billing woman wanted me to pay regardless my disagreement since I did not make, I repeat, did not make an appointment for prescription glasses. I read about the poor reviews on that end, but I did not think it will happy me. After this bad experience, I will not come back to this greedy place.

I am 24 and have had ptosis my entire life. About two years ago, I noticed it had started affecting my vision, so I began seeking surgery. I was referred to a different doctor first, and the result was awful. The lid looked worse than before and was barely any higher. I was pretty devastated. Thankfully, I was wiling to try again, and after doing some research, I found Dr. Haas! My insurance was about to change so I needed surgery ASAP, and Dr. Haas was very understanding and was able to get me in for surgery just a week after I saw him for consult. I was nervous after my first surgery went so poorly, but I am very happy with the result! The lid looks great, and it is no longer in my line of sight. Dr. Haas is also very kind and seems to genuinely like being able to help his patients, which I really appreciate. I absolutely recommend Dr. Haas!
