Dr. Robert J. Kraut, MD

I have been dealing with horrible floaters in my eye for 3 years, post cataract surgery. I found Dr. Kraut, who performed vitrology surgery on the eye, replacing the gel with saline. The following morning when the eye patch came off, my floaters were GONE! AMAZING! Dr. Kraut is a very skilled, soft spoken, and calm doctor- the kind of doctor you want working very delicately on your eyes. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. He deserves 10 stars!

I don't understand how if a person is a few minutes late, they will charge you a fee but if you are seen late they do not refund or care. Forget about making plans if you have an appointment here, I have been here waiting for more than two hours with my mother. Mind you I'm not taking into account the half hour that we were here early. The office was packed, so it would be a fair assumption to say that they did more than double book patients. It is a mess, everyone has been here long and is complaining about the wait time. Find a better schedule system or something. If you can, find another physicians office that respects your time and energy.

Before finding Dr. Kraut I had 2 retinal detachments in my right eye. My first surgery was done at the Eye Institute of West Florida (Largo). The surgeon reattached my retina and used a gas to hold it in place, but 3 weeks later it detached a second time. The same surgeon reattached it again and continued using the gas although he had mentioned other doctors might use the serial buckle surgery with oil to hold the retina in place. Three weeks later in GA my retina detached for a 3rd time. I saw a surgeon in GA and he recommended the serial buckle surgery with oil. I couldn't stay in GA and found Dr Kraut in Oconee / Orlando. He was able to reattach my retina using the serial buckle surgery with silicone oil. Now 5 months later my retina is still attached and stable to the point the oil can be removed. Had I gone to Dr. Kraut the first time, I feel confident I wouldn't have had to have or pay for 3 different surgeries. I have complete trust and faith in Dr. Kraut and he didn't have the huge ego that the other surgeons had. Dr. Kraut truly appears that he does the best he can to help out the patient and not just for profit.

I called for an emergency visit today and the doctor and staff were nice enough to fit me right in. This was important to me as I only have sight in one eye and get nervous when I notice sudden changes in my sighted eye. I have had reason to see several doctors in recent months as well as dealing with my insurance, most of whom had poor customer service, to say the least. It was so welcoming to see Dr Kraut's supprt staff so polite, professional and supportive. I wish more professional offices would follow suit and hire and train support staff the caliber that Dr Kraut has in his office. Hats off to the doctor and staff. Makes a huge difference in the experience!

Dr. Robert Kraut and his staff are awesome!!!! I was referred to his office from Ocala Eye which have been my eye doctors for 17 Years. I had a detached retina with 4 tears. He saw me before his office opened and by the end of the day on a Friday, I had eye surgery to fix the tears. The surgery was done late in the day after he had seen patients in Ocala and drove back to do my surgery in Orlando. It was successful and the follow up has been great!! The best of the best for eye retina issues. Outstanding!!

Dr Robert Kraut and his staff are incredible. I have been dealing with diabetic related eye issues which are pretty stressful. The staff and Dr Kraut have been so patient and understanding. Dr Kraut has kept my vision very stable and there really isn't enough words for that. They all go above and beyond, and are very kind. I really would not go to anyone else.

I had a retinal detachment, and my local specialist was not available. I was able to make an emergency appointment with Dr. Kraut, on a day when he normally doesn't see patients in his office due to previously scheduled surgeries. He altered his schedule to accommodate me, re-attached the retina and saved my vision. I cannot thank Dr. Kraut enough, or his awesome staff, for what they have done. His caring and expertise helped me get through a very serious and stressful situation. Five stars is not enough.
