Magruder Laser Vision

My husband had lens replacement surgery by Dr. Hunter in 2025 and had such amazing results, that I opted to have my eyes done in 2026.I was so very tired of poor vision, even with glasses and contacts. What an amazing office! The staff are exceptionally nice, helpful and you feel like they really enjoy taking care of you. Dr. Hunter is awesome! He makes you feel incredibly safe and confident about the surgery on your eyes - and that is a big deal! My eyes had big issues- poor vision both near and far, and astigmatism. Now, for the first time in 25 years, I do not have to wear glasses. I love it! Thank you to everyone at Magruder!

I wanted to wait a good amount of time before leaving a review. Had light adjustable lens(LAL) procedure on January 30th 2025 and it has been a long journey with complications since day one of surgery. Today has been 392 plus days of me having dull, achy throbbing pain in eyes, can't see clearly at all range, blurry visions with debris floating in eyes, etc..and emotional stress without a resolution from office. Had over 26 office visits (last visit 12-22-25) for answers or get a resolutions for it but haven't gotten one. I've been getting blamed by the doctor for my complications yet the doctor's not taking responsibility or accountability for my complications and made me feel like it's my fault. They've sent me to see specialist, get MRI, etc at my own expense and been told "go back to Magruder since they did your surgery" So far nothing has been done to fix my complications by Magruder and also been told " there's nothing more we can do for you and maybe you should try to learn to live with it." I didn't have any of these problems before surgery at their 3 pre-opts and they caused these complications but yet I am told "learn to live with it". This is the only sight I have, and this is not acceptable or the standard of the Magruder practice that I've known and loved for the past 26 years. I've been a happy patient before and have referred many friends and family to Magruder since 2002 until now. I am very disappointed in the practice and only wanting a solid solution for them to fix my complications so I wouldn't have to live like this for the rest of my life. No one deserves or should have to live like this the rest of their lives. Btw: the ladies at front desk and tech deserves 5 stars and they are wonderful addition to the practice for their kindness!! Thank you!!

I recently got Lasik done here, and so far I've been so pleased with the results. You feel a bit like you're at a spa given how relaxing the facility is, and they walk you through the entire process. I've loved having a concierge that I can call with questions to get quick answers, and the entire staff was easy going and wanted me to be sure I knew all the steps of the operation and procedure. Would highly recommend!

I recently had cataracts removed and multi focal lenses placed by Dr. Shumski. From the first consultation visit with Dr Shumski to my release to my optometrist, Dr Ross, I had excellent care at Magrueder. The entire staff is friendly and professional. They were prompt and the office was very clean. Lauren oversaw my schedule and was always available. I'm excited to see bright colors again and as I heal each day is clearer. I highly recommend Dr Shumski and staff.

I had eye surgery at Magruder Laser Vision in College Park and I could not be happier with my experience and results! Beginning with the initial consultation to the post-op follow ups, the entire staff was professional, friendly, and absolutely reassuring. Dr. Schumski took his time and explained every step of the procedure in detail, what to expect after, and answered all of my questions. The surgery itself was pretty quick and painless, and the downtime/recovery period is basically 24 hours. My vision improved dramatically the next day! I am absolutely amazed by the clarity I now have! Their follow-up care is extremely thorough. I am beyond grateful for the skill and care I received and would highly recommend Magruder and this procedure to anyone struggling with their vision and considering eye surgery.

I have worn contacts for over 20 years, and always wanted lasik. From consultation to post-operation, My experience was better than I could've expected. The entire staff is great, and Dr. Shumski made me feel comfortable during the procedure and sent a follow up text the evening after the surgery to check in. Overall, it was a great experience from a team that cares.

5 simply isn't enough for Dr.Shumski & Dr.Calloway and the entire team at Magruder Laser Vision! The reception staff were welcoming even calling you by name as you get off the elevator! The clinical staff & concierge do everything possible to make sure you understand the cataract surgery process, are comfortable & ready for the big day (or two in my case)! As a gal who has been in glasses since the age of 18 months...I can now see 20/20 without any assistance! Colors are brighter and life got easier!

I had a great experience at Magruder for cataract surgery. Everyone that I met on team was professional, pleasant and very helpful. All my questions were answered promptly. Dr Shumsky did an amazing job. My post surgery vision is better than I could have hoped. I have not seen this well for many years.
