I just had my eye exam Saturday with Dr. Tucker on E. Colonial. Dr. Tucker is one of the few Dr. left who take their time with their patients. I never feel rushed or pressured to making a decision. She makes sure your exam goes good and when you finish your eye exam you know that you are going to get the right prescription for your eyes. I have been to other offices where you feel you are just a number and only have about 15 minutes to make a decision. You won't get that feeling at with Dr. Tucker. She is an awesome Dr. and you could tell she loves her work and is very experienced. I highly recommend her office. Not only will you get a great Dr. but her staff are very helpful and polite. I will be taking my kids to see her.
Dr. Tucker might work well with adults, but she does not know how to work with kids.
She was very rude and condescending when I took my son for an eye exam.
She not once asked the reasons for taking my son to see her and would shut me down every time I would try to ask a question. It got to the point, where I had to leave the examination room and tell my husband (who's also a patient there and has never had any issues) to go in with our son, before I give the doctor a piece of my mind.
My husband came out with our son and was frustrated as well with her attitude.
She ended up, referring us to a pediatric ophthalmologist.. knowing that they wouldn't see us, unless there was a problem with his vision which according to her there wasn't, so the referral was useless.
I looked for another eye doctor and It turns out that my son DID in fact need glasses (as i suspected and tried to tell Dr. Tucker) It was just DR. Tucker that didn't have the right attitude to work with kids.
On the plus side, the front desk ladies are amazing! And do a great job.
If you have kids and are looking for eye exam services, take them somewhere else, you don't need that kind of attitude for services provided to you, no matter how many years of practice a doctor has.
Dr. Tucker has been successfully prescribing contact lenses for me for about 10 years. I have a very challenging prescription with lots of astigmatism. She never fails to produce sharp vision from my eyes with toric lenses as well as eyeglasses. I highly recommend her professional services.
When my regular optometrist moved, a friend recommended Dr. Tucker. She certainly lived up to all
expectations. She is experienced, skilled, helpful, patient, and kind. I have been going to her for my eye exams for the past two years, and have just scheduled my appointment for this year. I drive 25 miles to see her rather someone closer. She's just that good.
Although the supporting staff was nice and polite and helpful, the female doctor that is there is rude. I took my two daughters in to get glasses, one is a talker and the other is very shy and it was her first time getting glasses. The doctor was visible frustrated because she had to repeat herself a couple of times with my shy one. She was scared and then when the doctor became annoyed it was obvious, which caused my daughter to shut down, so the exam became even longer. I really wanted to curse her out but I was with my children and I don't want to teach them that behavior. But that doctor is the reason I do not go to that location, even though it is literally less than a mile from my home. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what, but I don't spend my money in places that make my children feel uncomfortable. She needs to take some stress management or something.
You don't have to be trained to know that when your sight in one eye
is weaker than the other, the prescription should be increased for the lens
of the weakest eye. Apparently, Dr. Tucker has forgotten simple logic that would have saved us time, money and the emotional stress associated with a prescription that was not suitable. Thank goodness we found someone who has actually helped the situation. Dr. Tucker is a nice person but she did not help us which is the most Christian way I can sum it all up.
Dr. Tucker is a really nice lady and she takes care of you right away. Getting my contacts with my insurance here was easier than ever. Highly recommended if you just need an eye exam or contacts.
AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!! DO NOT RECOMMEND WHATSOEVER!!! She has another practice on East Colonial and she was very rude. She does not know how to work with children and she is overall a very, very disrespectful and condescending person. I was reading some of her responses to the negative feedback and she threatened to get lawyers involved for speaking out about realistic experiences. How unprofessional. I went to the location on East Colonial and she was very rude. She made my 10 year old brother very uncomfortable and he almost cried because she kept huffing and sighing and rolling her eyes the entire visit. Whenever he had trouble answering which lens was better she kept rolling her eyes. She borderline blamed him for not knowing how to answe. He is 10 years old. You are an elderly "professional", learn how to treat your patients because that's how you lose them. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!
