Clarkson Eyecare

First time visit to Clarkson Eyecare. Totally impressed with the practice. Team Members were very professional and kind. No waiting. Got right in at my appointment time. Dr. Hogan is amazing. She helped me with a couple of eye issues i was experiencing. I will definitely be a regular patient.

My wife made an appointment with Clarksons on Sorrento for an exam to get contacts. When she got there, she was told that she would have to get glasses first since she has never had contacts before. My wife brought in her frames to have the new lenses installed in them. Later we found that the total bill was over $800. That was her part after the insurance paid thier portion. My wife called billing after talking to the insurance company. According to the insurance company told my wife that they are only allowed to charge he $50 for the visit and there was supposed to be a 20% discount off of the total per aggreement with Clarkson's and the insurance company. The person from billing kept saying that the visit was $179 and she did not know if the $20.00 was deducted. My wife had to point out that 20% of $800 was much more than $20. The battle continues. We will be contacting our insurance company and having them call Clarkson directly. I just used LensCrafters to get my Mom's new glasses and it was only $240 for new lenses and frames. I bought glasses from Clarkson's years ago and when I got them, they didnt fit. The arms of the frame were two short and did not fit properly around my ears. Thier solution was to bend the plastic frames by hand which only made them crooked on my face. Stay away from this business. Inferior and over priced. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU! They just want to over charge you and get your money. Update: The insurance company told my wife to ask for an itemized bill. The billing office sent a form showing Total Charges $881.99 and then the amount paid by insurance and the amount paid by my wife. The guy she talked to in the billing office insisted that this is what qualifies as an itemized bill. Lol

I love working with the people at Clarkson on Sorrento. Dr McGowen is amazing. Need an exam? I can recommend these fine folks.

This is the most unprofessional and inefficient place in Pensacola. Only because our insurance use them did we go here and now I am researching ways to take them off their approved list.They make you wait, understaffed and incompetent staff. Not friendly or helpful. Lose orders, fail to communicate when your order is in . They don't bother to size or adjust your glasses. They put their finger smudges all over them. Even new broken glasses fail to be replaced in a timely manner. You have to do all the leg work, call and check in. They put you on hold for over 20 minutes and fail to tell you that indeed your glasses are in. Deirdra blamed her manger Katelyn for being short staffed and overwhelmed! Go somewhere else! Save yourself the aggravation.

I don't think I'll be coming back. One eye test was not explained correctly and the one that cost out of pocket was not clean and didn't produce accurate image. I think it should have been redone or I should not have been charged.

Great service. The Doctor is so patient and listens as you ask questions. This is not an automatic with Doctors. I gave 5 stars because that was my experience, no exaggeration. Great job to Clarkson Eyecare.

I had a great experience at Clarkson! The eye exam was always very thorough. The staff is always friendly, they send reminders, which always helps :) They even booked my yearly appointment for me so I don't forget about it.

We started seeing Dr McGowan when we first moved here 5 years ago. We love her demeanor and appreciate her knowledge. The staff is also very helpful. When we have problems with the corporate level not handling our insurance correctly sometimes, they are very pleasant and helpful about getting it straightened out for us. You will enjoy going there.
