I got a prescription somewhere else months ago and had been putting off picking out glasses. St. Augustine Vision Center happens to be in my neighborhood so I stopped in today 30 minutes before they closed. Even though they were closing soon, Charlotte spent a lot of time with me helping me figure out what size frame would fit my face. She was a delight, so knowledgeable and explained things so throughly. Even gave me tips about asking my other optomestrist to help me correct my contacts that weren't fitting. She was awesome!! I highly recommend! AND - my current glasses are old and loose so when I handed her to them she asked if she could fix them for me (I think it pains her to see glasses in bad shape haha). Great service!! Thanks so much!
If you are looking for honest, professional, exceptional eye care, this is the place! For years I went to a large, national, well known eye center, and I had no idea that I was being scammed. They had me paying out of pocket for my glasses, and using my insurance for contacts, we ended up costing me more each year. Dr. Miles informed me that I should do the opposite to save myself money. I also had a lot of difficulty with my last pair of FULL PRICE glasses at the chain store, and they would not correct them when I couldn't see out of them on the second attempt. I would wear them for about 10 minutes and then would get a headache. Dr. Miles informed me that the glasses and contacts I was wearing were both too strong. He put me in a different prescription, and it was an instant improvement! I am so grateful for the time, attention to detail, and care I received from the entire team at St. Augustine Vision Center. They have gone above and beyond to help me see better, have less headaches, and save money!
My prescription couldn't be more wrong and I'm just living with it. Vision is SO important for my work and everything is offset and crooked. It never looks right and I'm always convinced by them "No no no, that's your prescription right there" I have astigmatism contacts and I flip them all day long trying to orient them and I'm basically seeing double. Can't pay upfront for a whole new appointment so I even ordered more of these wrong contacts just to get by. I'll also add that they charge extra on your eye exam if you want contacts and call it "fitting for contacts" it doesn't take an idiot to realize it's all one eye exam and the numbers translate (if you know what you're talking about) it's not an extra task. I wasn't "fitted for contacts" I've been wearing them for over a decade. It's extremely difficult to live without proper vision. Extremely hard to do anything. I have seen 3 eye doctors at this place and if you look at the prescriptions they're all massively different back and forth. It's like they just say "let's roll the dice and see what happens" Done.
Alexa at St. Augustine Vision Center is absolutely amazing! From the moment I walked in, she was welcoming, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. She made the entire process smooth and stress-free, taking the time to answer all my questions and help me find the perfect frames. Her friendly attitude and attention to detail truly made a difference. I highly recommend seeing Alexa if you want top-notch service with a smile!
Dr. Fred Miles is a knowledgeable, kind, and supportive professional, He immediately knew how to help me with the chemical burn on my cornea. I was in severe pain when I. came in and felt very comfortable and supported in his care. Thank you to STA Vision Center!
I have been a patient at St. Augustine Vision Center for several years, I am always pleased with my experience there. I recently ordered a new pair of eyeglasses, which sadly were not measured correctly, so when I went to pick them up, needless to say, I was very disappointed. Alexsis not only remeasured for me, but she went above & beyond it to help me find face appropriate frames and didn't mind that it took me a while to find new ones. She was very patient & helpful. She is a great asset and I highly recommend seeing her when you are being fitted for new eyeglasses.
The doctors here do great work and everyone I've seen has been consistently easy to work with my kids as well. When I didn't have insurance they weren't a pain to get to see me either :)
Came in once cause there was something in my eye that I couldn't find. Doctor was VERY determined to find what was up even though he couldn't see anything no matter how many different devices he used. Finally found out that I have an eyelash that just liked to live in my eyeball if I blink a certain way. Didn't charge extra for all the extra testing either, he just really wanted to find it cause it was defying him, lol!
Came here a few months ago and had a very pleasant experience. The Dr was awesome and very personable as well was his staff in the front. I chose to come here because big corporations are buying out all the independent practices in the area, BUT NOT HERE! I got some very nice ray bans with transitions and a bunch of other upgrades for half of what I usually paid at Target or other providers like My eye Dr. I will continue to refer family and friends alike to your practice, keep the faith :)
