Athens Retina Center

My husband had a detached retina and a tear. This office saw him immediately and took care of it the same day! They have everything moving smoothly and know how to keep everything moving efficiently. Dr Ire is wonderful as well as his staff. I'm very impressed. They also let me come into the exam room and listen to all the explanation of what to do. Again, very impressed!

I have requested at least three times via telephone from the Athens Retina Center a copy of my husband's itemized bill for his visit of June and have still not received it. I am unable to be reimbursed by our HSA until I receive the itemized bill from the Athens Retina Center. I find it discouraging that payment is expected upon the time of the visit and yet, an itemized bill cannot be received in a timely manner when requested by the patient. We were not impressed with the service and interaction by staff at Athens Retina Center.

Because they have such a large patient base, it sometimes takes a while to be seen by the doctor... but they have the procedures set up like an assembly line with technicians performing the necessary steps in preparation for the doctor. Each tech is very professional and courteous. Each patient is informed that it may take a good portion of the day... especially new patients. So, set your schedules accordingly. When it comes to eye health, I'd rather have quality over speed

I have been a patient of Doctor Iyers for over a year. You will not find a more knowledgeable and caring Doctor. Due to the volume of patients he sees in a day,sometimes he seems in a hurry. If you ask a question, he will answer you and fully explain so you can understand. Doctor Iyer could put on a clinic for caring about patients for other doctors if he had the time. When you get your appointment reminder, it says plan on one to three hours for your appointment.I have been in and out in 20 minutes but It has taken 3 hours for my appointment. My eyes are worth a few hours of time. I have and will recommend Doctor Iyer.

The staff is nice. The doctors are good doctors however the scheduling is horrible. They schedule too many patients at one time. It's over crowded and hardly no where to sit. They have a lot of elderly patients that have medical conditions that become overwhelmed. It's tiresome for them and whomever bring them as well. I brought a patients to a visit that appointment was at 2:30 and didn't get call back until 4:45. If they could improve there scheduling ot would be a lot better.

Dr. Copeland and his staff are top notch. The office is always busy, but they keep things moving at a good pace. They take the time to answer questions and explain everything to where I can easily understand each visit.

Dr. Copeland is a great doctor. I've been seeing him for about nine years now after my kidney transplant. I lost some of my vision and he's been taking care of me and doing a great job. He's a very caring doctor and cares for his patience.

Called to reschedule due to a conflict with my daughter having to another Dr appointment the same time. They were at first reluctant to reschedule saying their next available appointment was a month out and anything more than that worked new to far. When I said let's reschedule for then, they refused saying sometime would get mad at them and they canceled instead telling me to call back for a new appointment. Poor customer service.
