Athens Retina Center: Dr. Mohan N. Iyer, MD & Dr. Victor Copeland, MD

Absolutely zero bedside manner. Physically forced my family members head down when the speculum came out of their eye, instead of reinserting, he made the decision to force their head down with his arms so they remained still. Made them wait from 10am-1pm to be seen, after everyone else had already come and gone. Gets mad when asked questions pertaining to the person he is seeing, my family member asked a question about how their treatment was coming along and was met with his nasty attitude. This man needs his medical license taken away from him.

Dr Iyer is great. He has done surgery on my eye with great results. I had an issue on my other eye and without hesitation he met with me on a Saturday and was willing to do surgery immediately. Luckily I I didnt need surgery. He followed up several times and recommended some other preventative tests. He even scheduled them for me with other providers. He went above and beyond. Competent and friendly staff and technicians. Excellent and competent doctors. Dr Iyer was so pleasant and gentle and listened and was attentive and seemed to really care. Dr Copeland, though very competent and top-notch, wasn't as 'warm' nor 'approachable' as I wanted. Still, I give high reviews.

The staff is nice. Wait times are minimal. Dr. Iyer is very nice and thorough. He is knowledgeable and explained my condition and treatment very well. I feel good about letting him diagnose and treat me. Ashley Flowers Bridgman

I had an emergency with my sight after a car accident. Dr Iyers and his staff stayed late to see me for the appointment. They made sure the doctors that I was referred to were contacted and informed of the situation. After two other Dr's and surgery within 24 hours, because Dr Iyer and his staff made the arrangements, I am on the right track for recovery. I could not have had better care, more compassion or finer customer service if I had scripted it. Thank you for all of your caring and attention.

Went for a 3 month follow up today, called ahead to let them know I would be 10 mins late. The waiting room was packed at 9:25 am! Average age of patient appeared to be 70+ (most were with a caregiver). After 45 mins I asked when I would be seen, the receptionist reminded me I was late and told me I was next. An additional 25 minutes passed, several patients were getting restless new arrivals were being told it would be a 2 hour visit. I promptly cancelled my appt. the receptionist encouraged me to stay or reschedule. This is my 4th visit to Dr. Iyer's office every visit has been a lengthy wait... and a brief visit with the Doctor. Personally I felt my appointments were rushed, impersonal, and did not allow for questions to be asked. His specialty is urgently needed in Athens. Unfortunately I will not be returning. There aren't any many reviews written I hope the feedback is received positively and will shed some light and bring about improvements.

Athens Retina Center: Dr. Mohan N. Iyer, MD He is the best, he personally call the Neurologycal office and spoke with the specialist gave him all the details about my husband case, they give us an appointment for the same day. He was so professional and knowledgeable he discovered that my husband has a brain mass that was affecting his vision. After surgery he call and follow up to see how was his improvement. Thank you to Dr. Iyer his vision is 20/20. Highly recommend him
