Visionworks Athens Place

Been coming to this location for years. They were the only place that took my kids caresource insurance. A sweet young man, Ryan, called me when I scheduled an online appointment to tell me that they were no longer in network with caresource, but they were doing a program for continuation of care for the next few months since it was such short notice. He was very thorough with explaining things to me and, though I was slightly sad to have to find a new provider after this year, I felt the explanation of what was going on was kind and he went above and beyond. Well, fast forward to today. I get a call from a girl that sounded kinda timid explaining that they no longer took caresource and could not service my child. I explained to her what Ryan told me on the phone a few days prior and I hear someone in the background of the call sharply tell the girl "tell her we're not taking it anymore and that she will have to pay out of pocket if she wants to be seen!" The girl relayed the message and told me that her manager was the one that told her. I asked for the manager's name and she said it was Nicole. When I asked if I could speak with her, she told me that she was on break, even though I just heard her speaking in the background. I'm very disappointed with how this has turned out and very disturbed to hear how the manager spoke to that associate on the phone. I have VSP for myself, but I will NEVER be returning to this location after experiencing such unprofessional and rude behavior from the manager. I don't think I was given the wrong information from the kind young man a few days prior. Very disappointed.

So I have to rave about Nichole (Nikki) for her outstanding customer service! She took lead and handled a challenge I was having with new lenses. It was a process of elimination, but she happily took on the challenge. I really appreciate it, because the other office I was at was letting me down. And her charming personality made it the process even more of a pleasantry than a hassle. Thank you again.

I hate that I didn't write down or remember her name but the woman who helped me was from Philadelphia originally. She was so kind and was able to help me find exactly what I was looking for, so quickly and with excellent service. She was also super friendly and helpful to anyone who walked in. Im thankful for my experience at this Visionworks and to the woman who helped me today! I'll be a return customer if I have any more glasses needs.

Great place for eye exam. Super friendly staff. The Doctor was polite and informative, took time to explain my exam results. Choice of glasses and lens was not pushed or pressured to purchase any of the additional services.

Had a 12:30 appt and arrived at 12:42. Stood in line for at least 10 mins while they helped other people. When they asked me about my appt I told them I was late and they said because I was 15 mins late they couldn't see me. I said it says walk ins welcome on the windows and they said yes they are welcome but the optometrist is on lunch and won't be back until 2:30. So he was already at lunch when I got there? I would suggest finding a different eye doctor. I had drove an hour for this appt.

Kaelyn provided excellent customer service and was very helpful in helping to determine the best solution for my vision needs. The doctor was professional, efficient and thorough with the examination and determining the optimal prescription for my eyesight.

I've really enjoyed my time here. I needed to replace my glasses with the ones I had chosen. Because I did not feel they were for me. They did an awesome job to help me in every way.

I visited the Athens Visionworks for the first time in Spring, 2025. I had already been to Costco for glasses with the same Rx, but was never completely happy with my lenses. I returned them for a refund. Then had glasses and sunglasses made with the same Rx at Visionworks. Admittedly, I was still not 100% satisfied with my Rx, but felt that after two attempts, that it was the Rx. After a period of time, it was time for my annual eye exam elsewhere. My doctor increased my prescription. So, I took both pairs of glasses back to Visionworks today to see if we could just keep the same frames and remake the lenses using the new Rx. I was prepared to pay as necessary. However, Nicole, the Manager, and Kiki looked me up in their system. I was unaware of the timing, and although I was outside of the 100 days for a prescription change without a charge, Nicole waived the fee this one time and took my glasses to send off with the new Rx. I was so impressed with Nicole and her handling of my situation. I encourage anyone looking for eyewear to visit Visionworks! Their exceptional customer service will keep you coming back! Thank you!
