I contacted this office because I was experiencing a sudden increase in floaters and needed urgent retinal care. Instead of receiving compassion or professionalism, I was immediately met with suspicion, bias, and a patronizing tone from the very first call, before I had even walked through their door. The woman I spoke with took my information and then called me back, asking that I send a photo of my insurance card to a personal cell phone number. That alone was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Shortly after, she accidentally dialed my number again, not realizing I was still on the line. What I heard was disturbing enough that I could not let it go unaddressed. She launched into a profanity-laced conversation with another person, mocking patients who are dealing with advanced diabetes and financial hardship. She even expressed how glad she was to have chased a man down because he almost did not pay $300, treating it like a game rather than a matter of patient care. Her entire rant seemed to stem from the fact that I am from out of town. She openly complained about having had issues with other out-of-town patients in the past. I had clearly explained during our initial conversation that I was only choosing their location because it was closer to my job and more convenient for my schedule. I also explained that I live less than an hour away. None of that seemed to matter. Her bias was already locked in. The way she spoke about people who are suffering was cold, disrespectful, and in direct opposition to the ethics of healthcare. This was not a one-off comment or a slip of frustration. It was a sustained, gleeful rant that revealed a complete lack of empathy and professionalism. I want to be clear that I have never been to this office, and I have no ulterior motive in writing this review. I have nothing to gain. I only want to expose the appalling experience I just had and speak up for the people who may not get the chance. Maybe this is how many healthcare offices behave behind closed doors, but I imagine very few are incompetent enough to accidentally expose it. I will not be seeking care here, and I urge others to be cautious. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity, not mocked and profiled before they even arrive. To add, the woman was speaking to a man who mentioned researching a great collections agency, a clear reflection of how they view their customers, as if everyone is out to get them. In fairness, I have not had any direct interaction with the doctor, who may very well be an excellent physician. However, their decision to place someone so unprofessional at the forefront of patient communication reflects poorly on the entire practice.

Dr. d'Heurle is highly competent, and I am always confident that he is focused on my outcome. I have never had doubts about the quality of his care. His assistant, Bebe, is efficient and attentive. Although this is a sole practitioner, he instills trust in his treatment and analysis, and he is unfailingly kind.

I believe he has saved my vision. So that's absolutely wonderful!

From the moment I called to tios place the way the answer without letting me know that was a doctor's office with a simple "hello" gave me a bad taste. Now I try to book an appointment and that are overbooked and they could not see me.
