Awesome experience - convenient and quick. Tenisha and Joel helped sort out insurance and contact logistics. $100 less than other eye exams I have been having for years. Doctor was really friendly and attentive. Extremely convenient and accessible on campus!
Forgot my contacts at home after thanksgiving break and needed to see for class. As soon as I walked in I was kindly greeted and helped by the whole staff. They gave me trial pairs, a supplement for dry eyes, and eye hydration drops. This was more than enough and they really came in clutch. If you need any eye assistance, this is the place. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful!
If you have GRA insurance via UHC, please read!!! The doctor was wonderful, but I had a very disappointing experience at this clinic due to the staff's lack of understanding of my insurance benefits. The staff charged me a fee for contact fitting, and even though I asked them multiple times why I had to pay this fee when my insurance should cover the exam, they kept repeating the same thing over and over and seemed annoyed by my questions. Meanwhile, they could have just verified my benefits and explained those options to me. Also because of this lack of diligence, I ended up paying over hundred dollars in unnecessary contact lens fees, while my insurance could have covered most of those charges. If you are a GRA and have UHC insurance through Georgia Tech, your contact fitting is covered for certain brands, and can buy those lenses with a low co-pay.
It's very disappointing that a clinic located on campus, where most graduate students with school-provided insurance rely on, would be so uninformed and unhelpful about these benefits.
Just went in to grab a spare pair of contacts, and they had AMAZING service. Very quick, efficient, and so kind. They even gave me an extra contact case, solution, and even eye drops. Highly recommend.
Dont understand why retinal imaging is not optional. They at least tell you upfront, but do not give you the option to opt out of it. Turns a 10$ copay visit into 49$. I would go elsewhere for routine eye exams.
The customer service and extensive eye consultations should encourage more individuals to prioritize their eye care. I transferred my medical records, and with each entrance through its doors, I have zero regrets. In addition, this facility should serve as a flagship, training new front desk personnel, opticians, and optometrist candidates selected to support your evolving organization.
I was charged $49 instead of just my $10 copay because they force you into retinal imaging that you cannot opt out of. This feels like a scam. Patients should at least be given the choice--just like you're given the choice to decline dilation. There is no reason to make this mandatory other than greed. And to be clear, I'm not debating the medical value of retinal imaging--I know it's beneficial, but that still doesn't justify making it mandatory.
To be fair, the doctor was excellent, the staff were kind, and the gentleman who helped me pick out glasses was very helpful. They truly are nice people, and I have no complaints about the care I received. But because of this unnecessary, non-optional extra charge, I don't think I'll be returning.
Doc, Nia, and Taneesha were absolutely amazing to me. I came in with anxiety through the roof and I left feeling so much at ease. You never know what kind of day someone is having and I was having a day!! These three women made it easy to breathe again. Thank you ladies!! Thank you soooo much!!
