Dr. Gideon Mincey

Take this as a helpful warning, DO NOT bring a child thats 4 and under to this doctor's office. Prior to making the eye appointment I asked the receptionist if they handled children that are age 4, she told me yes they did.okay cool I made the appointment for two weeks later. I got there had to wait in the waiting area for maybe about 15 minutes before my boys were seen. the doctor at first was very nice&friendly but he could not diagnose my children because they couldn't see the letters that was in the mirror so he told me at that time that he don't recommend them glasses & to return in 6 months. 6 months later (Jan 2, 2018) I come back it's still the same problem my kids are telling the doctor I can't see the letters. Dr. Mincey made them so nerves because he was frustrated. The Doctor start sighing, shaking his head in frustration, breathing heavily in and out, and spoke to them as if they were dumb or something and asking me questions about their birth all because they were not giving him the right answers. ( by the way they both know as well as can recognize all of their numbers up to 100, all of their alphabet, all colors , all shapes and even speak a little bit of spanish at the age of 4.) But because of his negitive energy my boys completely shut down. They were done and so was I. I walked out of Dr. Mincey office once again an unsatisfied customer. I strongly do not recommend you to schedule and waste time and gas because he does not have the equipment to perform eye exam for a child. I'm only giving him 3 stars because Dr. Mincey however referred me to another doctor office off of Camp Creek Pkwy on Redwine Rd, who DOES work with toddlers and who DOES have the eye equipment needed for doing eye exams. Also because the ladies in this office were very professional and kind both times that I came in with my children.

Dr.Mincey and his staff are WONDERFUL! We have been going to him for 15+ years and have always been satisfied with the services and treatment we receive. Very friendly, professional and accomodating. My oldest son joined the military and is stationed out of state. He came home for Labor Day weekend and desperately needed some contacts. Dr. Mincey, although the office was closed because of the holiday, opened his establishment to see my son. He was able to get an exam and get the contacts he needed on a holiday weekend! I was overwhelmed Dr. Mincey's accomodating spirit and soooo appreciative that he gave up his time on the weekend to see my son. He is awesome!!

Dr. Mincey, Danielle, Marsha and Natasha are the best! Very professional, great with kids and have an excellent selection of eye wear. I highly recommend Mincey Eye Care!

Awesome Doctor's office!! They seem to care about your eye care needs. very convenient from my job. I was in and out! Thank you Mincey Staff!!

Went to this place as a "walk in". I called ahead and they stated they could put me in. Made this appointment at 3:30. I arrive at 3:20 and it is 4:51. I have yet to see the doctor. The office closes at 5:00!!!! If there was no available time slot why did y'all book me in??!!!! A complete disappointment.

Always a pleasure, staff is well connected with patients. Dr Mincey has a great personality.
