Midtown Eye Care

I have been going to Midtown Eye Care for about 15 years or more.The staff is excellent, very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They have lots of special frames. They can even customize some lenses on frameless glasses. If you like the frames but not the color, they will see if they come in the color you want. They have done it for me. They will also replace lenses with your new prescription if you want to keep the same frames. I have replaced some of my lenses 2 and 3 times.

I absolutely love this place. Everyone was so friendly and polite. The staff is amazing. I never left a review before but they were phenomenal. I would definitely recommend.

Dr Barnes was very dismissive about my issues that I came in there for, and I was trying not to cry, when I was paying for the service, because I'd received such great service there, when I went there prior to my LASIK surgery. Which is why I went back there, even though they're out-of-network, now, and I was constantly recommending them to others, when they were in-network. My LASIK was in 2017. I've just turned 46, and I'm having a lot of issues with LED lighting situations and electronics screens. I've also noticed a lot more eye floaters than normal over the past few months, which I repeatedly kept pressing him about, and he just kept addressing me being able to see near and far and the prescriptions for that and telling me that I could have two separate prescriptions or have them in one pair, and for some reason would dance around not saying "bifocals". The prescriptions are fairly weak and not really an issue for me, right now, and he refused to recognize the issues that I went in there for, which can be symptoms of some real problems. Now, I have to figure out where to go to get some real help, because this was a total waste of my time and money. Response... I'm not quite sure how you wasted your time, when you are the one who got paid by the customer who left in tears. FYI, there was no refund.

At Midtown Eye Care, clients are treated like real people, not merely chart numbers or sales' percentages. From the first phone call I made to schedule my appointment to when I picked up my new glasses, I was treated courteously and respectfully, which is such a rarity in today's big-box-business world. My appointment with Dr. Barnes was great--he was very thorough and patient and answered all of my questions. I didn't feel rushed or uncomfortable at all; he is not only an extremely knowledgeable physician, but also a really congenial guy! But, as anyone who has ever worked in a medical office knows, the quality of the practice manager can make or break the place and, on that account, I can't say enough about the amazing woman that is Kay--she is smart, classy, and genuinely kind. With her help, I was able to purchase the coolest, most amazing-looking, highest quality glasses I've ever owned. When I picked up my new, awesome glasses, Amanda took her time with me, even while gracefully multitasking end-of-day concerns and last minute customers. Because of the wonderful employees and exemplary personal service, Midtown Eye Care has a great vibe (there is even sweet, chubby canine mascot). If the place were any more comfortable, customers might never leave; but, everyone knows that the most important part of the visit is finding the best eye wear for one's budget and they certainly won't kick you out until you find the perfect pair of glasses to fit your face and personal flair, as well as your budget! Before my wonderful experience here, it had been six years since I last updated my prescription, so this has also been a bit emotional for me--to put on new glasses and realize how poor my sight had been. I'm literally seeing things in a new light, and it's all thanks to Kay, Dr. Barnes, and their awesome team at Midtown Eye Care.

Dr. Barnes Is by far the BEST eye doctor I've ever been to hands down! He's patient he's gentle and there's no rush when he's working with you. He's very detail oriented. He also makes great suggestions. And he really cares about his patience. The staff here is very kind and professional 10 out of 10 I recommend and you would not be disappointed. Just know that if the wait is a bit longer it's because he is taking his time with another patient as he would with you.

I have been a patient with Midtown Eye Care for over 6 years, and my experience at every visit has been fantastic. Dr. Barnes is very attentive and always ensures my eye care needs are met. The staff is personable and patient. I highly recommend seeing this provider if you're looking for an optometrist in town.

After 2 adjustments the lens continues to fog up at the base of my large frames - most frequently on the left side - which creates a problem when reading. I am promised new lenses due to another issue. I hope that the new lenses will not fog up like these. I have to clean them 3-4 times daily. It is extremely annoying. Great news! The concerns regarding my RX eyeglasses have been successfully addressed and resolved. I was "re-styled" with new frames as well as new lenses which do not fog up and remain clear throughout the day. I owe a huge thank you to KJ for his perseverance, professionalism and kindness.

Dr. Barnes is very thorough and handled al my eye measurements for the Rigid Gas Permeable (RGB) contacts I needed with great care He answered all my concerns each time in the process from exam to fitting. His entire staff works as a team to get the information you ask for and also did a terrific job to explain each step with details. I appreciate team work and the dedication they have to being sure you have your medical eye needs meet. I am very happy with them as I have been to several eye doctors over the years and Dr. Barnes and his team are certainly the best in class with specialty eye care needs. I would highly recommend Midtown Eye Care for any Rigid Gas Permeable (RGB) contacts users or anyone with certain contact needs that require more precise examination. Thank you!
