My grandmother has been dealing with ongoing complications since her cataract surgery for nearly TWO YEARS. She constantly feels like there is something stuck in her eye every single day. This is not a minor inconvenience. It affects her quality of life all day, every day.
She has told the exact same consistent story to every doctor she has seen. This is not confusion. This is not an exaggeration. This is a persistent, lived physical experience.
At her recent appointment with Dr. Eddie Harris, she hoped to feel heard. Instead, she was completely dismissed.
He told her there was "nothing wrong" and instructed her to stop seeing other eye doctors and just go back to her primary care physician. A primary care physician...for an eye issue following cataract surgery. That suggestion alone was confusing and felt like a way to brush her off.
What was worse than the words was the tone. The dismissiveness. The implication that she was imagining it. When an elderly patient expresses ongoing discomfort that has lasted for years, the bare minimum expectation is compassion and curiosity, not condescension.
There are few things more defeating than knowing something is wrong with your body and being made to feel like you're crazy for saying it.
If you are looking for an ophthalmologist who listens carefully, takes persistent symptoms seriously, and treats patients with empathy, I would strongly encourage you to consider your options carefully.
No patient, especially not an elderly one, deserves to leave a medical appointment feeling unheard, minimized, and embarrassed.
Best Opthalmologist in Atlanta. Dr. Harris is very knowledgeable, professional, pleasant and efficient. Office staff is exceptional. Highly recommend Premier Eye Physicians for all of your ophthalmology needs.
After 2 different visits to my primary physicians office, I was referred to Dr. Harris by my coworker. His office is where I should have gone first for my eye concerns! Dr. Harris was 'spot on' with diagnosing my issue and prescribing the proper medicines to bring me to relief and eradicating the eye virus.
From the front counter (Paris), to the team in the back that ran tests and took pictures (Longe' (sp?)), on to Dr. Harris' examines and diagnosis... I received kindness and professionalism. I'm hooked...and I'll be going to Dr. Harris for 'anything' related to my eyes. Excellent Professional and Superior Customer Service was my experience at Premier Eye Physicians.

Dr. Harris has been my eye doctor for over a decade. He is caring and thorough in the eye examination. Additionally, he takes his time to explain any necessary procedures.
With my visit today, I noticed some staff changes and believe he's aware of how important it is to have friendly and competent workers.
I highly recommend his practice!
I have been a patient of Dr. Harris since relocating here from Europe. Dr. Harris and his staff have always been professional and courteous. Dr. Harris always take the time to ensure that I know what is going on with my eye care. He never seems too busy to answer any questions I have regarding my eye care, he exemplifies the mannerism I wish all doctors had, He really seems to care about his patients and their follow up care.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Harris to all in need of eye care. I am glad that I found him.

I was searching for a good ophthalmology the old one that I was going to had me taking drops after drops and my left eye was getting worse and worse. I felt like I was going blind. No matter what this doctor gave me to put in my eye, it was not getting any better. all the doctor could say that I had dry eyes this was the diagnose that I got. It took me quit a while to get an appointment with Dr. Harris. Made my appointment and Dr. Harris informed me what was going on with my left eye. If I had still kept going to my old ophthalmology, I may have gone blind by now. Dr. Harris diagnosed me and treated me and now I have no problem with my eye. I recommend Dr. Harris. Try him for yourself and you too will be posting your story. Thank you Dr. Harris and his staff you all are the best!

****UPDATE**********
6/19 I am glad to say after 1 month of going back and forth my situation has finally been resolved. I would like to thank the office manager Marisa as well as Dr Harris for getting to the bottom of the situation and handling the problem in a timely manner. I appreciate the time that Dr Harris took out of his busy scheduled to personally contact me and see what was going on. Both he and Marisa apologized for the horrible experience that I had and Dr Harris did issue me a complete refund of the money spent. I do think Dr Harris is a wonderful compassionate doctor and does recommend his services. Everyone on his staff with the exception of 1 person was friendly and respectful they just have 1 bad apple in the bunch. Thank you again Dr Harris and Marisa for all of your self.
If I could give this of rate of 0 I would. DO NOT USE their services!!!! REPEAT DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!!!! I went to get a procedure done back on 5/17 and was charged $172.00. On the date of first front desk staff (gentleman) was very nice. Waited over 1 hour to be seen due to they had gotten a new system but nobody came to explain. Dr Harris who was very nice walked in for no more than 5 mins told me I needed to rescheduled to get procedure done at which I did. I was told at that time I wouldn't have to pay anything on the next visit and on the day of my visit specifically 1 HOUR before the front desk staff called me to say with my insurance it would be another $315 for the services so of course I declined the service and was FURIOUS!!!! I have worked in healthcare myself for 20+ years and it's no way you didn't know what the procedure would cost 1 hour before my appointment when you got my insurance information back on 5/17. Remind you the next appointment happened ((2)) weeks after the first visit back on 5/17. Called to speak to a manager (Mahalia)about refunding my money and which she refused stated I received a consultation at which in my opinion nothing happened. When I asked for a detailed receipt if I had a consultation Mahalia became very sarcastic stating and I quote "that's how we do things and if I needed a detailed receipt I would need to either pick it up or it be mailed to my home" mind you the first receipt says nothing no codes, no specifics has what was done, besides the amount charged with my name and date. After she agreed to send me a detailed receipt and blow me off with a "sorry I was informed 1 HOUR before my scheduled procedure" I asked for to speak to a manager who was in charge of her the 1st time I asked she hung the phone up on me. (Very unprofessional)!!!! Of course I called right back and when I asked again she told me she was the manager meaning Mahalia and what could I do for her???? Again would not let me know who she reports to because I am sure she has a manager/director that she does report to and hung up on my again!!!!!! Signed a disappointment patient.
