Clifford Seward, MD - Southpoint Eye Care

Dr. Seward is very knowledgeable and concerned about my progress. He is always attentive to my concerns and allows me the opportunity to express them without interruption. Dr. Seward did not rush me through my appointment and is careful to administer the tests to determine my current status. I have been a patient of Dr.Seward for over 10yrs and I am pleased with his services...

I took my grandmother for a regular check up, the appointment time was at 4pm. After waiting in the lobby for about 1 hours and 15 minutes we were called back into the patient room. The doctor, Mr. Stewart didn't make it into the room until 5:39. He is kind but the wait time is ridiculous. We would have left but had to be seen to continue to get her medication. It is now 5:47 pm . The practice is closed and we probably won't be leaving his office until after 6pm. We grandmother was tired and fell asleep in the chair. If I'm able to find another doctor with faster service , we will be changing providers.

I have several family members who have been going to Dr. Seward for years. They would talk about what a great doctor he is and how they love his bedside manners. After hearing there praise for so long I decided to switch to Dr. Seward, but he was not on my insurance. I didn't give up. I checked back and he is now on my insurance and I am so happy. He is very attentive and you will not leave without all your questions answered. Now I can see why my family is so pleased.

I've been going to Dr. Seward for 3 years now! The best optometrist experiences ever! Dr. Seward and his staff are absolutely amazing! Every time I visit for various eye concerns, his staff have demonstrated professionalism and personalized attention! Dr. Seward is fantastic both in his medical practice and patient care! Yesterday, I took my 11-year-old daughter for the first time and I was totally impressed how quickly he calmed her nervousness and listened very attentively to her concerns and provided her professional medical attention in a child-friendly way! A gratifying experience she will never forget! Southpoint Eye care is my family place for Ophthalmology!

I have been sitting here since 11:15am, my appointment was at 11:30am. I tried giving the front desk assistant Kay my paperwork except my medication list so she could input my information while I filled out my medication list. She refused taking it and said I have to fill out everything before she could take it. She took her keys and phone and went away for a while. I had finished my paperwork and left it with the other assistant she said she would give it to the other assistant Kay when she got back. Kay got back and then she called me told me I had to pay one hundred and something dollars. I told her I had met my deductible from January, she said she had to call the insurance company. I went into my insurance account and showed Kay that I met my deductible she brushed me off and said she was on the phone. Yet a customer came out from the back and she (Kay) attended to him verbalizing while she was on the phone. I later asked Kay what time would I be seeing the doctor because it's now 12:30pm and my appointment was at 11:30am (remember I got there at 11:15am) she said she was on the phone. I sat there and started to write this review because I can't believe what's happening. At 12:45pm Kay shouted out to me "Ms. Carlene we will get you in the back real soon. Then the assistant from the back called me back. She ran some tests and she apologized for her colleague's behavior because I told her about my experience at the front. She (the back assailant) was very nice and polite. It's now 1:15pm. She has finished her part and I'm now waiting on the doctor to come into the room. I didn't know I had to wait so long for an 11:30am appointment. So I'm still waiting on the doctor...,,, let's see what happens next.

I am very unhappy with Dr. Seward. The wait time is unacceptable and should not be tolerated by anyone. He so so, so slow. I have NEVER waited 2 hours to see a doctor, never. He is a nice doctor but he doesn't care about time. I had cataract surgery and went for a follow up today and left after waiting almost 2 hours. I will never go back to him.

The doctor himself is fine but the operation of the office is terrible. The front desk receptionist is rude & has no customer service skills. When I got there today she just let me stand there & after a few minutes said she'll be right with me while she did things on the computer, scanned paperwork & then got up and left the desk for at least 10 minutes, she may be gone longer but I'm writing this as we wait. 25 minutes after his appointment time & she still hasn't come back or checked us in. If you're gonna have someone represent your brand/office at least pick someone who will at least smile/greet your customers/patients. Update she's back & had went outside to her car while she had us here waiting. This place is a joke & so are their employees.

The wait time is way too long and too many appointments to accomplish what could be done in no more than two. Too much down time in between processes. Definitely could be more efficient and considerate of his patients' time. Been here 4 times just for an annual exam and contact fitting, with a total of more than 10hrs spent here over the 4 visits. Too much time for a routine eye exam and contact fitting. Will not return for my next annual visit. It is ashame, because the staff is very personable and I wanted to support an eye doctor in my area.
