I am a 24 year old patient that was referred from Savannah memorial and never would have thought I would have needed to see a retina specialist. I came in temporarily blind from my left eye to this place. All you heard was negative comments from both doctors, they are twin brothers so I'm not surprised they both have a horrific attitude and are not professional. They told me I'm was going blind and to enjoy the time i had left. My condition is not good but I got a different opinion from a different doctor and it was a whole different experience, I'm in treatment and as long I was getting my treatment I would be stable. Chatham eye associates makes you feel horrible, they make it feel like it's the end of the world. They are so negative and the staff members treat you like crap, it's not like the services they provide are free. You pay for horrible service plus the wait time can be up to 4+ hrs. This is the worst place you can ever step foot in, no wonder they are the lowest rated place. If you are experiencing the need to visit an eye office please don't come here. I have videos on my phone with conversations with these doctors that you would be surprised. one time I called the doctor when I had injections in my eye and I felt pain and called him and he told me not to call him for significant things like that, to call him when I was blind. That was the most ignorant comment I have ever received, why in the world would I call you when I'm blind, there's nothing you can do at that point. Please be careful to where you go. Don't make the same mistakes as many of us here did.
Was sent from Memorial after drastic reduction in vision. Dr Dandy saw me without an appointment, but that was last positive interaction. He told me to lie to my employer about my condition, when I asked about returning to work and treatment plan, twice he answered my question with the question... "do you want to be blind?" He grudgingly gave me a work excuse and a follow up appt 1 week later. I sought a second opinion, but nobody would see me without a referral from him. The day before my follow up appointment, his office called to cancel my appointment since I "wanted a referral anyway & that Dr Dandy had covid". The referral was not received at The Georgia Eye Institute, so after unsuccessfully calling his office , I called the number that was suppose to be his personal cell phone...the receptionist at his office answered it. After reviewing Dr Dandy's records, the Georgia Eye institute made me an appointment in Bluffton SC for a month hence. I was not given the option to speak to anyone, was just told that they reviewed my records. Only in hindsight have I surmised that they didn't agree with Dr Dandy's findings of a hole in my retina. My fear was compounded by Dr Dandy's words...do you want to be blind. My condition has cleared almost entirely without treatment, the retina specialist I found out of Augusta will soon do some laser surgery to prevent future hemorrhage. Dr Dandy wanted to see me weekly, I assume for the purpose of incurring additional bills, or perhaps out of incompetence. I work in healthcare, not something I mentioned, my eyes are my livelihood, I have never been treated so unkindly, these people who are very well compensated, have forgotten their humanity. If at all avoidable, do not entrust your sight & well being to this quack
The staff in best but the doctor himself is worst eye doctor I have seen. He disrespected not on time with his patience. You sit there for 2 hours and never been seen and he only send 15 minutes with you. Don't tell you what going on with your eyes. I had to leave his office to go to work. My appointment was at 9:00 and had to be to work at 11:00. My God bless is little heart.
First met Dr dandy Sr, in 1978, a very kind and patient man, gave me my first pair of contact lenses fast forward to 2008 had a retinal detachment, born legally blind, met Dr Russell, and Dr Ronald they allowed me to go to the hospital and saved my left eye, 4 surgery I had no insurance at the time, they could of let me go blind!! But didn't!! Dr Russell, God bless him, has managed my glocoma all these years, and now Dr Ronald is my savior, I will continue going to Chatham eye associations, until the end !! Very professional and knowledgeable folks !!! ThANKYOU!!!
I thought it was a joke but they weren't kidding. Three and a half hours later and we still haven't seen a doctor. Appointment was for 1pm and it's now 4:30. Wow! I can't believe they're still in business. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!! Doesn't matter if they're the best in the state, find someone else ASAP!!
I had an excellent experience with the Doctor at Chatham. He discovered a potential cancer risk & gave me excellent advise!! I have moved away & saw another doctor who rushed me through the visit so fast & was so nonchalant! He was also old, working alone & had at least 15 more patients in the waiting room. I spent around 5 minutes with him. This will not happen to you at Chatham!!
I have been here with my mom since 9 AM. It is 12:53 PM and we still haven't seen the doctor. This is absurd. It's so disrespectful of the patients' time. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place!!!! If I could give negative stars, I would. There is no reason for a doctor visit to take this long.
Well I couldn't even get as far as an appointment. Left me on hold for over 10 minutes. Never came back. At least to say, I am working on getting you taken care nope. 10 minutes I sat in total silence. They must have enough business and decided they didn't need mine.
