America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

Terrible managment and company. Why is ordering contacts and getting a prescription so hard. I have a strong prescription and have been wearing contacts for YEARS. suddenly i switch back to Americas Best and have had nothing but problems. They don't listen nor care to actually check your eyes. After multiple appointments my prescription still feels incorrect. Had to demand to be re examed multiple times, was eventually told the contacts I had been using were making my eyes worse. Still having issues with my prescription. Expressed multiple concerns that contacts were uncomfortable and not correct. Complained to management not sure who but the male manager in charge was extreamly rude, said He won't be helping me because of my "attitude " which was caused based on multiple interactions with staff. He was very unprofessional and rude. I had every right to be upset. Heather who works at the front desk is judgey, rude, and should never be in customer service. Don't waste your time and money for people who don't care. Never once have i felt like they cared. I especially feel judgment and like they have never once taken me seriously. My vision is serious. After all of this time prescription still remains incorrect despite multiple exams. I continued buying them because i am legally blind and quite literally need them too see. However i am fed up with spending my money on INCORRECTLY PRESCRIBED contacts that dont even last however many months they claim to last. Resulting in me the customer spending more money. A total scam.

This place is terrible. I have tried for years to think this place was a good place for eye care. The doctors feel like they are just doing their job to get you out. No care. No instruction. No overview in any health or care for your eyes. Just basic get you in and get out. I have moved on to another eye care facility and am very happy with the care and support they give me. Please give this place a pass and no thank you and give an other optometrist a chance. You're eyes deserve good care.

Dr. Hunter was amazing and thorough. He did my eye exam and made sure to check the health of my eye as well. He was very kind and gentle and I appreciate my new eye doctor. All of the staff at this location are friendly and helpful! Sam was super helpful picking out glasses and letting me know what my options were to purchase them. I will go back here every time for my eye exam and see Dr. Hunter again he really was amazing!

I was seen at the Boise location on 9/11/25. The service was okay but not exceptional. I provided my insurance information and agreed to pay a price for a pair of glasses, 4 months later I received a bill (an additional 30%) stating that my insurance company had not paid what they expected them to pay. I called the location and they stated there was nothing they could do to help. After years of going to countless doctors, dentist and optometrist, I have never had this happen. In my opinion it is Americas Best responsibility to provide me with an accurate calculation of the cost. It's not like they are a small company that only processes a few insurance claims. It would also be more reasonable if I received this bill within a month of my appointment, 4 mouths is unacceptable. Why would I ever go back or recommend them to anyone, I do not trust them.

Dan was quite rude do my friend when we went to pick up his glasses. When my friend asked if we could widen the glasses at all, Dan replied "You can't make the glasses bigger than they are, no". Which is not only condescending but also not true? He could have at least had suggestions, since that's his job. Then when my friend asked to see the paperwork for the glasses (since the glasses felt different and it took some doing for Dan to find the pair in the first place), Dan said, rudely, "Paperwork?", and my friend said, "Yeah the paperwork you just had?", Dan paused then said "Sure" like my friend was being a bother. It was uncomfortable and the lower price isn't worth it.

I stopped in to get my glasses adjusted at Americas Best Contact and Eyeglasses. The staff member who helped me was rude, dismissive, and acted like I was bothering her. She barely adjusted my glasses and immediately told me there was nothing else she could do and that I probably needed to buy a new pair. She got fingerprints all over the lenses, so I asked her to clean them. She grabbed a dry cloth and wiped them. Anyone who works with glasses should know you need spray or a proper wet wipe. My lenses were even dirtier after she wiped them and she is lucky she did not scratch them. This place needs to train their staff better on basic care and how to talk to customers. I will not be back.

Is it normal for my eye exam to be 5 min long.? The lady who did my exam did not checked me like they usually do. She also made a stupid coment and honestly felt like she didn't even checked me thoroughly she took 5min. I only read one line of letters with both eyes. . Just gave me readers and thats it. I could've done that my self and saver me over $200 . I will never go back there. Specially if she is there. Dr Stephen has checked me before and was great. Wish i had him instead.

I was impressed with the optometrist, the sales staff, and the manager. I had to go back a couple of times for frame adjustment, and every time the service was excellent. The manager actually followed up with me the last trip in to make sure everything was satisfactory.
