Costco Optical Department

The actual eye center is fabulous and so is the optometrist. The department where the actual glasses are is also great and so are the technicians EXCEPT for the one and only man who works back there. He is EXTREMLY rude and ruins the experience. I almost didnt get my glasses there just because of him. He is very controlling and tries to decide what the patients need instead of what the patient wants. He wouldnt even consider my needs or wants so I ended up leaving then went back when he wasnt there to get what I wanted in the first place. When I called a week later to find out if the glasses were in, he was very rude and short with me. Ive talked to several other friends and coworkers who have also had negative experiences with him. If i were costco I wouldnt let one bad apple spoil a good bunch. I will go back because of everyone else but definitely not when hes there.

I thought Dr Johnson was awesome. Very complete eye exam and took time to explain everything and made sure I understood follow up. Didn't feel rushed and all costs were explained up front. Whitney at the vision center was superb. She was so friendly and helpful

I picked up my glasses last night (2/14/25). David did excellent!! When I arrived, David was helping an older couple with their new glasses. There was another woman ahead of me. David did awesome helping us all out. He took his time with all of us. He educated me on my bifocals. Great personality!! Very friendly!! Great job David!!

So this review is for the Optometry Center and the Costco Vision Center. These are separate entities and after your vision exam you can take your prescription to whomever you want to get you glasses/contacts, but I'm not sure why you would go anywhere but Costco. I rate them both 5+ stars and that's really not enough. I've been to other places to get glasses, but I've never received such phenomenal customer service as I have here. Despite my own shortcomings, both places have gone above and beyond any reasonable expectation to ensure my satisfaction as a customer. You should only go here for your vision needs, they both come highly recommended.

Eyeglass frame choices are really good there with lots of brands. But the Optometrist pushed me to use these really cheap purevision2 contact lenses even though I insisted that I'm very used to the soflens38 (Baush &Lomb). These simply hurt my eyes so badly as they get blurry, tear away within days of regular wear! Its been very annoying. I never had such issues before. I won't be a repeat customer for eye exams here.

Great selection of frames including some lower price stylish options. Super helpful employees for dealing with insurance and answering questions and ordering contacts.

The lady in there tonight, was very rude didn't bother to show where glasses or any and was more interested in saying hi to other customers.3/18/26
