Kirk Eye Center - Gurnee

I would like to start out by giving a huge thank you to Miki at Kirk Ete Center for all her help dealing with my crazy insurance. 2nd I would like to say that ever person I dealt with here was absolutely amazing. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I felt so comfortable during a time of complete distress with my vision issues. I am so happy my Dr referred my here!!! Thank you all!!

Please see Update of 10/8/25 August 2025 I have cataract surgery coming up, and having anxiety disorder, am feeling it a bit already.. Most of their staff and the doctor I met with for testing were very nice and informative. The real gem at this Gurnee location is Gabby, who runs the entry point to the practice. She is as kind and friendly with arriving patients as she is on the phone for questions and scheduling. I have two post-appointments scheduled that I had been worrying about, and in talking it over with Gabby, she was able to schedule different times that work much better for me. It's nice to have pleasant people to deal with at places where anxiety maybe present. Thank you. Update: Its been two months since first procedure. It went well and I could see much better right away. Dr. Gunther, who I had folow-ups with, was friendly and thorough. Before the second surgery, I met with Dr. Kirk, and he encouraged me to get an upgraded lens so then I wouldn't have, as he said, a have a chain around my neck with reader glasses. I did do this and I'm disappointed that that eye was and still remains blurry, and I will need readers after all. The $1,600+ for the upgrade was a waste. In asking about why it turned out like this, I was told it was a problem with the back part of that eye. Dr. Gunther did some retesting, and said nothing had changed so it wasn't any worse, which is a good thing. I would have to think that this was known of in the extensive testing I had before the surgeries. I can see better and I'm thankful for that, but I wish I would have gone with my original plan to have the same lens in each eye.

The immediate care doctor thought that I might have clogged tear ducts. My normal eye doctor referred me to Kirk. I could not be happier from intake to initial consultation through meeting Dr. Carter Kirk. He diagnosed the problem then used a syringe to squirt liquid in my tear ducts. I was freaking out inside but he and his nurse made me feel calm. It was an in-office procedure and I'm glad I went.

I had my left eye done ~ cataract removed and lens implanted. That was yesterday morning. A fabulous, so very organized, the medical staff is kind and caring. Great experience. Today I can already see how well i am to see after all healed! Thank you so much.

I recently had cataract surgery done at Kirk Eye Center. From start to finish I had a very good experience with all the associates at Kirk Eye Center. My surgery went great with no discomfort at all. The results were excellent and started immediately after the surgery! I plan on having my other eye done ASAP. Very professional, friendly and the results were phenomenal! What else could you ask for!

All the Doctors are great, explain every thing so you can understand what they are saying.

If I could give this Eye Center 10 stars, I would. I have just completed my first laser cataract surgery in my left eye and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome! I look forward to my next procedure on my right eye in a week with no hesitation or apprehension. Not only is the staff in Gurnee, exceptional, kind and courteous and helpful, the doctors that you see there are professional, kind, efficient and very knowledgeable, and make sure that you are comfortable with any decision you make. I was hesitant to do this, even though I have had Lasik surgery in the past but I couldn't have had a better outcome or results. The doctors and staff at the surgery center were as efficient, courteous and kind as they are in Gurnee in helping you relax and guide you through the procedure with ease and confidence. If anyone is looking for either cataract or Lasik surgery on any level, please do not pass this place up, you'll never regret it. I know I didn't and I sincerely thank everyone so much Update; Just a follow up five star compliment to Kirk, Eye Center, in Gurnee as I was in there on August 20, 2025 for a follow up To my cataract surgery as I had developed a minor membrane behind one lens and Dr. Tyler Kirk, very carefully removed it with laser surgery in the Office. Him and his wonderful assistant, whose name escapes me at the moment and I apologize we're very kind and courteous. In getting me through the procedure and the following Maureen, my eyesight was fantastically better and I can't thank them enough. It's a great place to go and wonderful people to work with.
