I have been coming to Gurnee Eye Care for over 15 years. Even when they switched over to My Eye Dr... I stayed and noticed just recently, as I was trying to order more contacts.... 1. I asked a gentleman in the office to clarify which RX was for which brand. Are they different. His answer.... Yes this is the correct one. Never clarifying. 2. They used to match prices, they now ONLY will do that if you purchase a years worth of contacts. A whole year. So even if you're just purchasing 1 box that would have 6 months. They won't price match. 3 I found the gentleman who I had never seen in the office before, blame a lot of new things on "new ownership" Possibly due to new management... They won't have anyone staffed in the office if no Dr is present,... again this is due to "new management " or "new ownership " I understand business' get bought out. I do. Please use the time to educate your people so they can answer questions correctly. Such as which rx is the correct one. And not simply yes that's correct when there are 3 different ones on file. And blaming things on new management is a poor and sad excuse as to the why as a response for everything!!

My children and I have been coming to this location for the past few years. We love our Dr. and the staff is usually pleasant, however, I have recently encountered an unfortunate situation with little regard to the practice. My glasses were ordered after my annual eye exam, and took the standard time to be shipped to the office. My glasses arrived, I went to pick them up and the prescription was not correct (I could not see out of the glasses). The gentlemen eye technician was very rude and made a comment "well there is your name, right" like I was making it up. Finally the manager came and was very helpful, the Dr. then adjusted the prescription/glasses and they ordered me a new pair to be corrected. As of today, it has been almost 1 month and a half with no glasses. I am highly disappointed in their lack of concern or empathy for my situation. I asked for my order to be canceled and my money refunded, which is happening however where is the care or empathy for the entire ordeal? I would NOT recommend myeyedr at any location as the company does not appreciate their customers, clearly because my family will not be back

Please do not go here or bring your kids here. They are not Spanish speaking friendly at all. I called to make an appointment Tuesday for next week. Because we responded to their auto text with a thank you instead of a number to confirm they decided to cancel the appointment entirely and move it to mid December. Over a month away!!!! If you need glasses or contacts that delay is truly unacceptable. With the state that our country is in today it's truly disappointing how rude and disrespectful they were for being a Spanish speaking customer. Will be referring all family and friends elsewhere.

Was going to be my first experience here and was only late by 12 min they said they had a grace period (10min) and they couldn't even take me while after I hear the receptionists talking about leaving early.Honestly was looking forward to the appointment because I spoke with a young man and he was great but I go in and deal with horrible receptionists no wonder there so many recent bad reviews think it has a lot to do with being Hispanic due to reading previous complaints , definitely won't recommend to any friends or family.

wish i could give a higher rating but after the conversation i had with the receptionist, i think two stars is well deserved. i called because i made an appt and wanted to get an estimate at how much my visit would be with my new insurance. the woman proceeded to then run my insurance and then say that she couldn't give me an estimate... i've never heard that before. every place i've been to always gives me an estimate because who wants to go somewhere without knowing what they are paying. the worst part is that when i told her that i wanted to cancel, she said "okay!" and hung up. so unprofessional. when i went to visionworks in gurnee (everyone should go there instead) the receptionist was so kind to inform me that the receptionist at my eye dr ran my insurance without letting me know that i now wouldn't be able to use my benefits even though i received no services from them. oh, and he actually gave me an exact estimate without giving me trouble. anyway, isn't that something you'd let someone know because it's not always assumed? im so glad i didn't reschedule my appointment because based off of that interaction im sure it would have been even worse in person. again, vision works with Dr. Gunn is where u want to go

Always a positive experience at this office! Love Dr. Kovacs and staff. They always go out of their way to take care of me and my family and do a thorough job. Making an appointment is super easy as well as coming in for any adjustments

I just picked up my son's presc eyeglass today my son was so excited for his new one but then he git disappointed bec he doesn't have that "adaptive UV lenses" that originally when we were there we were offered that & I agreed to it as well thinking w a total charged of $988, after the ins, i got charged of $358.30 out of pocket again thinking that includes lenses color change, my was so upset bec he was w me when that nice lady told us he will hv it, but today she wasn't there it was the FD lady who assist us & she said we didn't hv it, I told her I wll check my original receipt bec that doesn't sound right to me, just so disappointing. I hope I can speak with someone to clarify this issue.

I'm not sure why there's all these bad reviews. I can only speak on my experience here and it was wonderful! I wasn't sure which location I initially made an appointment so I showed up 30 minutes early. They checked me in as soon as I knew I was at the right location. I got called bad very quickly and the staff was kind and made me feel at ease about my appointment. Compared to a chain vision center I visited, this was WAY better. Prices are reasonable as well. I will be a returning customer.
