Low Vision of Illinois

I recently visited Low Vision of Illinois in Libertyville IL in search of solutions for my dad, who suffers from macular degeneration. After researching various technologies and specialty glasses, I discovered this center and couldn't be happier with the experience. From the initial phone call, the staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. They patiently listened to all our concerns and provided insights into potential solutions. The eye exam was thorough, and the staff's friendly demeanor made us feel at ease. Dr. Svetlana Pikus was amazing and answered all our questions. She suggested telescopic bioptic glasses for my dad and spent a substantial amount of time ensuring the fit and style were perfect for him, which was comforting to see. When we picked up the glasses, Dr. Pikus again took the time to ensure they were adjusted perfectly. These glasses have already helped my dad see better during everyday activities, improving his quality of life. The overall experience was marked by kindness and professionalism, leaving us feeling well cared for. My mum, who has macular degeneration, finally went in to see Dr. Pikus about getting low vision glasses or, as my mum calls them, "goggles". The staff was excellent, making us feel confident and cared for, and she is now able to see faces and watch TV. Cure all no, but helpful in giving some of her sight back, yes, she has been thrilled.

My grandmother has low vision due to macular degeneration on both eyes. Thanks to Dr. Pikus who prescribed her bioptic telescopic glasses she can now read, play cards, and watch TV. She is much happier now that she gained some of her independence back as is able to enjoy little pleasures of life.

We were referred by Dr. Cohen from Illinois Retina Associates. Very happy he did. My mother has macular degeneration and Dr. Pikus prescribed bioptic glasses, so mother can keep doing what she loves, reading, playing cards, watching television. The low vision help here is a concierge like, with everything out of pocket, but is well worth it.

I have Stargardts. I bought a pair of telescopic glasses that has completely changed my life for the better. Dr. Pikus has low vision devices that have helped me be able to read. I highly recommend Low Vision of Illinois!!
