Merry Gindorf, OD

I had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Merry Gindorf, OD on Tuesday morning, October 7, 2025, for a complete eye examination, and my experience was truly exceptional from beginning to end. Dr. Gindorf is an outstanding professional who demonstrates genuine care and attention to every detail. She took her time to carefully explain each step of the exam, making sure I fully understood the results and any recommendations for my vision care. Her professionalism, patience, and thoroughness reflect a deep commitment to providing the highest quality of service to her patients. The staff was equally impressive--welcoming, courteous, and very well-organized. From the moment I arrived, I felt comfortable and valued. The entire team worked together efficiently, creating an atmosphere of trust and respect that made my visit both pleasant and reassuring. It's rare to find a practice where both the doctor and staff show such dedication and professionalism. THE BEST EYE DOCTOR!!! I recently moved from DC and had a wonderful eye doctor, but Dr Gindorf was even better. She checks everything, not just whether you have 20/20 vision. Dr Gindorf is an encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to eye problems & when she explains these to you, you understand why you have experienced difficulties. Her office is equipped with with all kinds of equipment-no more "puff of air in your eye" to test for glaucoma..she has a new technology. She even has a machine that tests how quickly your eyes dry out. She can do retinal imaging so you don't have to go to another doctor to test. And she has a great selection of eye glasses...she carries the Eye Green brand which is hard to find-they are so light that you don't even know you are wearing them. I researched dozens of doctors before choosing her and I was glad I did. Shout out to Cindy, her assistant who runs the tests. She also is great with helping you pick out frames that look good on you.

Dr. Gindorf is an exceptional O.D. Her examinations are more thorough and complete than any I've experienced with numerous other providers over the years. The appointments are not rushed - as with many other providers - and she does a great job of explaining things. Her office staff is equally as professional and pleasant to interact with. An excellent practice. Even after moving out-of-state I will continue to come here based on the superior care.

She is the best and the office staff as well! They quickly helped me when I was having a bad eye reaction and I'm so thankful we still have good doctors that actually care! My family will definitely stay coming here.

Great Dr. and Great Office Staff. Personal touch and feel. Not a mega group/practice. I've been a patient for almost 8 years. I haven't been in because of covid. My prescription hadn't changed much, but my glasses were almost 3 years old, and worn. I received my new glasses today and it feels so nice to have new glasses and see clear and crisp again. I put off because of the lack of eye insurance, but am so happy I'm went back. Dr. Gindorf, is willing to have hard conversations with her patients and cares about your overall health and well being beyond your eyesight. Her office staff is bubbly and professional.

Great doctor and professional, responsive staff. My fiance had a scratched cornea and was in a lot of pain. We are new in the area, so I left messages at a few offices late at night, and Dr. Gindorf's office got back to me as soon as they opened the next day. She was able to see us ASAP between appointments, patched up her eye, gave us a treatment regimen and we were out of there within 30-40 minutes. It was the best experience we could've had given the circumstances, and we'll definitely be going back.

Wow, I just realized I've been seeing Dr Gindorf now for almost 8 years. She is the best doctor I have ever had. My eyes are special to say the least (I am a genetic mutant!). I never win anything but I hit the jackpot in eye care. She is the only eye doctor that has ever really figured out exactly what I need. She introduced me to a contact lens that fits my life so I don't have to wear glasses that weigh 4 pounds and make me look like an insect. While I wouldn't care as much as I used to, I'm so glad she had the inside info on hybrid lenses. I am confident that this doctor knows literally everything about eyes a person could know, and for the things she doesn't know well, she will route you to the best person who does. I moved away from the area but I still make the trek. Even if I lived in France, I would book a flight to the states and Uber from Ohare at least once a year. She's that good. Thank you doc for significantly improving my quality of life.

Dr. Gindorf is great; she took the time to get into the details of my astigmatism and I learned a few cool things no other optometrist I've had has bothered to mention. Her staff is awesome. The nice young lady at the front desk was super patient with me when showing me how to put the contacts in. Definitely had a positive experience.
