As a parent, I never expected something as simple as getting glasses for my child to turn into such a frustrating and stressful experience.
I brought my four year old daughter here after she was diagnosed with two lazy eyes and significant vision issues. Getting her first pair of glasses was a huge moment for her. She was excited and carefully picked out a purple pair she loved.
Unfortunately, from that point forward, it has been one issue after another.
The first time her glasses broke, we used the warranty and were told replacements would take about two weeks. Instead, it took almost five weeks, and not once did anyone call to update me. I had to repeatedly call myself just to find out what was happening. If there were delays due to shipping or manufacturing, I completely understand, but communication matters, especially when a child relies on glasses daily. During that time, my daughter's eyes were hurting because she did not have what she needed.
The second time her glasses broke, the exact same situation happened again. No follow up calls, no updates, and promises of callbacks that never happened. Once again, I had to chase down answers myself.
After another five week wait, the replacement glasses finally arrived, except they were the wrong pair entirely. My daughter had chosen purple frames, and instead we were given green ones because her original color had been discontinued. No one thought to call me and let me know ahead of time. Within those five weeks, I could have easily brought her in to choose a new frame she actually liked. Instead, my four year old refused to wear glasses she did not pick out.
What upset me the most was the lack of ownership or accountability. Mistakes happen, especially with kids' glasses, but each time there was an issue, there was no proactive communication or acknowledgment that things could have been handled better.
I will be honest and say I did lose my cool toward the end of this process. Seeing your child struggle with vision problems and repeatedly feeling ignored as a parent is incredibly frustrating. I do apologize for how upset I became, but I truly believe any parent advocating for their child would feel the same.
I also wish from the beginning that we had been advised to purchase a backup pair for a young child who depends on glasses daily.
The biggest problem here is communication and follow through. Parents should not have to constantly call to get updates or discover major changes, like discontinued frames, only after the glasses arrive.
I was encouraged to come back and purchase another pair, but unfortunately I will not be spending any more money here or returning.
I hope this review encourages improvement because children deserve better care and parents deserve better communication.
The care Dr. Sigler has shown during my appointments has been nothing short of outstanding. Her ability to listen to my concerns, goals for vision improvement and personal feedback clearly shows her true passion and professionalism. Too many times these days a patient's wishes or concerns can be overshadowed by the need to treat as many patients as possible and then pushed out the door as quickly as possible. The feeling of top notch treatment appears to be a standard of her's which is extremely refreshing. The office staff have appeared to be pleasant to work with so far and I will not hesitate to continue visiting for all my eye care needs.
Dr.Sigler and her staff always go above and beyond. I needed contact lenses quickly and they ordered them and I received within two days. She also gave me samples just in case. Been going there for years and wouldn't go anywhere else.
I had a very disappointing experience at this eye clinic during my daughter's recent visit. The doctor was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I requested a copy of my daughter's prescription, they refused to provide it unless she returned for a follow-up to see how the trial contact lenses were working. They even said that if I wanted the prescription immediately, they would have to take the contacts away from her. To make matters worse, they charged me $95 for a so-called "training" session. This is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for respectful and professional eye care.
My recently visited to Rana Salameh for an eye exam and was very disappointed with the experience. While the office staff was polite, the doctor displayed a rude attitude that made me feel uncomfortable. It seemed like my concerns were brushed off, and the overall atmosphere was unwelcoming. I expect better treatment from healthcare professionals, especially when it comes to something as important as eye health. I won't be returning.
My daughter was treated by Dr. Melissa Sigler a week ago , her professionalism and polite attitude make me to change my eye doctor but Dr.Rana really unprofessional.
Dr. Sigler is the best! Kind, compassionate and very knowledgeable! I wouldn't bring my family anywhere else!!!
Also, her practice provides my daughter the best vision therapy! We love Dr. Sigler and her whole staff!!!
It was okay! There weren't as many sanitizing procedures in place that I've seen other places. There also wasn't too much of a women's selection of glasses. The doctor was nice but didn't offer up a lot of information on my
Prescription. Dr Salameh .
Dr. Sigler takes her time with the patients however some of her office staff is rude and I felt discriminated! I always pay in full each as they say they don't take my insurance. I have had a couple of bad experiences. The first bad experience, I discussed it with the doctor, it seemed like she sided with her staff than the me. I continued going only because my son liked her. The second time, I called to schedule an appt this year and when she asked if any insurance was going to be used, I asked if they accepted my insurance and she responded in a rude and condescending manner, "I mean you can't expect to accept all insurances." So I brought it up to a staff member and said she will talk to Dr. Sigler however never heard back which says a lot from part as well. I don't even know why I bothered scheduling another appt when I can somewhere else and get respect and care that a patient deserves! I would think twice before going here especially if they don't take your insurance!
