This is a family owned business, and they care. They have given the best care to my mentally disabled sister. They are the only people who could handle her very complicated vision problems and needs and wouldn't stop until it was right. Where others would send us away and say that's the best we can do-- every time they go above and beyond to make sure she is happy. My sister thinks of them like family, because they treat her with so much love. And I personally love that they have their selection isn't only typical-- they have some great off beat and edgy styles.

Best optician I have ever had! Been going there for 10 years or more and always had excellent service. They may seem pricey, but when it comes to knowing the business of optometry and all the options available to suit your particular needs, they do not let expense stand in the way of helping you see correctly. They have always offered me a "good, better, or best" option when buying new glasses. Chains and department store opticians will only recommend the types of lenses that make a profit for them and fit a certain price range whether you really need something better or not. I figure glasses are a tool that I need every day -- I buy the best because great vision is worth it!

I cannot say enough about Sue and Elizabeth at Bergh-White. My first pair of glasses from them made my vision better than I can remember in a very long time, and their attention and care is amazing. Recently I had a problem with the frames that they couldn't fix quickly, and knowing my prescription, they put my lenses in different frames for the hours they needed the glasses.
Then it turned out that the frames needed to be sent out, so I wore those frames for days, and when they were returned , the frames had been replaced with the same ones, but new, for $25.00. I so appreciate their work ethic and kindness.

We have had nothing but extremely awful customer service at this office. First, getting my husbands prescription sent in for an online brand of glasses was a complete hassle thanks to the receptionist. Second, we placed a contact order 3+ months ago and we've tried to be patient with the ongoing delays. Finally, the contacts come in and we try to pick them up- well, the store frequently closes early so you have no clue when they are going to be open. I tried again at 1:00 pm (office is open 8:30-5 every weekday, according to their signage and google) and their doors are locked with no answer to their phones and a full voicemail box. They are completely unreliable and unprofessional. Seriously, think twice before wasting your time here.

They were able to get me replacement frames for expensive lenses when SEVERAL optic shops in Champaign said there we none available, And I would have to get new glasses. Bergh-White Opticians is a phenomenal establishment, which has skilled and caring professionals who put people first. Dr. Bourn is thorough and takes her time with you. She explains procedures and information well and offers suggestions, rather than just doing something to your eyes without explanation and then scheduling you for next year. The eye & sun glasses selections are bar none and the staff extremely knowledgeable. Bergh-White even has its own glasses brand, which is fun and functional. They are not in network for me, but I pay the difference happily because the quality of care has been better than any I have experienced in this area. Give them a try and like me, you'll become a regular!

You would think that someone would contact a patient, to reschedule an appointment due to Covid 19. I drove to the office only to discover they were closed. A note on door telling when they would reopen and an emergency phone number. I called the number, all I got was..sorry mailbox is full, not accepting any more messages. Which tells me none of the messages left were responded to. So, I sent them a message via their Facebook page, private message. Still, no response. My eyes are important to me, and I decided to change opticians.
