Ramanath Bhandari, MD

Dr. Bhandari is very good at what he does. He is very knowledgeable. I've been trusting him with my care for many years. The only change that has occurred over the past year is that I believe he's overextended and that Springfield Clinic has him overworked a bit. This means that as the patient you spend time waiting the quality of the care that he provide is still impeccable and I very much trust his judgment and opinions. The only reason I stay with him is because of that otherwise I would have left because I do not like waiting a couple hours to three hours for one appointment. I have made this known to Springfield Clinic. This is just one of the many issues that they have as a clinic unfortunately, even if you were to bring it to their attention, they do not have accountability where you were ever informed of what changes they will be making or how they resolved the issue. The four stars is not a reflection of the care that this doctor provides he does provide five star care. The four stars is for the clinic and how they manage and operate their services.

Dr Bhandari and his staff are amazing. To learn in March that I had a hole in my macula was scary. He performed surgery to repair and I have a gas bubble. Saw him yesterday for my one week checkup. He's so busy but he answered all of my questions. His staff is kind and I just can't speak highly enough about this experience. I'm 65 and have never had general anesthesia. It was so much easier because of all of them.

The wait times are horrendous. My appt was at 1210. Didn't get called back until 1250. The assistant did a quick vision check and dilated my eyes. We were then escorted back to a diff waiting room and told the wait time is 1.5-2 hrs. I realize be is a specialist. This is a SC issue. I was there for eval for a vitrectomy secondary to excessive floaters. Once I did see him, he did a quick retina exam, found out I was unsure about the surgery and headed for the door. Most of my questions regarding the floaters and my vision were referred back to optometrist. I would have appreciated an opinion as to what to do. I felt the whole visit was a waste of my time, as he basically spent 5 min with me.

The very worst at time management and efficiency. Our spot was at 9:30 AM. we were not seen by the Dr until noon!!! The drs assistant never even introduced herself. The banter in the 2nd waiting room we were put in was that Dr Bentari was the best because you have to wait weeks to see him. If he were the "best" he would demand that his office scheduling was handled with more promptness and professionalism. If I could give zero stars I would.

Wait times are atrocious. My appointment yesterday was @11:30 AM. Finally saw the Doctor for a five minute eye injection 1:00 PM. I have previously waited as long as 4 hours for an injection. Surely someone can plan these appointments better than this.

Dr. Bhandari is a great doctor He is thorough with everything he does with your eyes. His staff is great. They are awesome. He has a great team. Thank you Dr.Bhandari for helping me with my eyes. God bless you and your team.

He is a special doctor--so smart, so kind, so informative. I never complain about the wait because once I was the one causing the delays, and so I understand that he might be dealing with others who are in more serious trouble than I. I had an emergency appointment with him and was in a state of panic. He and his staff took lots of time with me and helped me calm down. The problem and the treatment were explained to me so that I understood it.

Dr. Bhandari and his staff were all amazing. Only had one issue on a phone call with Karen that had attitude. Other than that 5 stars.
