Dr. Grant Su tries to rush out the door seems they don't care for the patients needs only the money they can charge you or your insurance. The office outpatient visit for 20 minutes was $592.00 I would try Chicago like othe person mention. Not recommended not happy with the services in this clinic and Dr Grant Su.

After I was diagnosed with cataracts 2 eye professionals in Springfield told me not to use Springfield Clinic ophthalmology department. I ignored this advice and tried to work with Springfield clinic. I had an emergency situation with my eyes and lost my sight in one eye because of the cataract. I am only 35 and needed to get back to work. Their receptionists were rude and combative and did not let me speak to a nurse or doctor. Receptionists should not decide who gets care. I asked them for help with post op care and they refused but would only hear me out after my primary care doctor reached out. I was even offering to pay out of pocket for treatment. I have been a patient at SC my whole life (aside for the year the decided not to take my insurance) and have only asked for help this one time. When my insurance was denied I switched to SIU medicine and I think I will transfer my care back to them. I agree with my eye optometrist, SC is getting worse every year. I hope that chip on their shoulder doesn't get too heavy. I am currebtly receiving treatment from Chicago Cornea. It is a long drive but the compassion and kindness showed to me makes all the difference.

This was my first time visiting the clinic. I transferred from another clinic that no longer accepts my insurance. The Springfield Clinic doctor found a problem with my eyes, which the other doctor had failed to notice. I'm grateful that the staff at Springfield Clinic Eye Institute had found the problem long before I lost too much vision. Their quick intervention will halt the progression of the retinopathy.

Refused to see me cause my a1c was too high. I understood that but the doctor did not speak to me after I drove 30 miles to see him. The a1c results were available before my appt but they did not bother to cancel before my drive! I also had a problem with the doctor telling the receptionist the details of my problem and why he wouldn't see me. I felt like my. Privacy was violated! She had no need or right to know my medical issues! Physician should have sent me a letter cancelling my appointment and telling me why or speaking to me while I was there. I have switched optometrists.

Have been here multiple times and always had a great experience. During my most recent appointment I refused to do the test for glaucoma. The last time I had this test, it caused a panic attack severe enough to stop me from breathing. They now refuse to see or treat me at all.

This place charges atleast $90 with insurance.
