Would not recommend going to All About Eyes in Sterling, Illinois. Very unprofessional, one employee actually disagrees with another , and they dont know what they are doing. I told them what insurance I had, the one gal told me, no I didn't have that insurance. Another employee listening, told me , yes I did. It has taken 3 months, 2 different prescriptions, and 3 different pairs of glasses, and wasting my time traveling to Sterling and Moline to get a pair of glasses. They are still not correct, they can't seem to place the bifocal correctly in the glasses. I have to push the bottom of my glasses up from the bottom...to be able to read. After taking back the new glasses and remarking to remake them, when they came in, the problem was the same. So next, set up another appointment to be retested. We'll the doctor did not retest, told me it was the frame and to go out and pick out another. I had an employee help me pick one out. Sent that off and when came back. No difference. I called a customer service number in Bloomington. They agreed that I was treated rudely and that Sterling was unprofessional . They apologized and set me up with All About Eyes in Moline, Illinois. I had a doctor there give me an eye exam and picked out frames. They came in and the anti-glare was not in them. I was told that several people complained about this, was told that the lab had trouble and so sent them back to have them put in. I can wear these, but have had migraine headaches now. So I have had two prescriptions within the last 3 months. Problem was always getting the bifocal put in the glasses correctly. With the headaches now, Im thinking which prescription is the correct one? Sterling All About Eyes sent invoice to my insurance, my insurance then sent me a letter of what I owed. I already paid the eye place when I got my glasses. According to my insurance, which told me what I owed. I had over paid over 200.00. Told Sterling about this, had an argument with a guy at Sterling store, telling me that my insurance didn't have everything listed....well thats not fault, I told him. In fact my insurance, when I called them about this...told me that they didn't even know what lens I had gotten....wow, they didn't know if my lens was single, progressive or bifocal. Sterling refused to give me a credit. I just got another statement from my insurance ,that Sterling must have resummited. Well it still showed that I overpaid. I'm 74 and have worn glasses for over 40 years....I have never ever had this problem before. I guess I will have to just wear my old glasses. For can only go to eye doctor once a year with my insurance. I feel I should be able to give them the glasses back and get a full refund of what I had to pay. Should I call the BBB .

The doctor is pretty rude. Was told my contacts prescription was my prescription based on the machines and not believed when I told him vision was still blurry after 10 minutes of wearing them. Had to do the eye exam with contacts in to only be told oh this isn't right. The contact prescription is double your glasses lens prescription. This is normal for me as it has been that way since wearing contacts and glasses. Was told that there is no way I had my last visit just last year. He has been in Sterling for 2 years now and Dixon Shopko wasn't here. The optical office has been and I had my prescription. I did not want dalies for contacts but that's what I was given. Was told to just get cheaters to read close if I had problems with the contacts in. Felt was being pushed into a bifocal for no reason for glasses. My prescription isn't even bad (-1.0 and -.5). Since my prescription didn't change much I shouldn't worry about new glasses. Astigmatism was never discussed which is a concern with driving at night. Have not gone back and have not gotten a follow-up call. Only reason for the 2 star is the girl in the office could tell I was not having it and was super nice to me.

Very nice and professional. Was able to schedule an appointment and get in next day. Had a test that was new to me and the doctor was very concise but thorough, which was nice. Overall not a single complaint.

I had an eye exam in February. I paid extra to have an exam for contacts for my up close vision. The doctor told me that it sometimes takes two or three contacts to get the right one. After trying two that didn't work for me, I called to ask for a third one. The receptionist didn't put me on hold so I heard the whole conversation. He very rudely said, I've given her two to try, I don't know what she expects! So I never got another pair to try. I've been wanting to try Qlosi, (an eye drop that clears up your up close vision) This doctor won't prescribe it to me because I'm over 50 years old! For many people as we age, we are not able to see up close. I did not need readers when I was under the age of 50! (I am 63) And a friend of mine had the same doctor (I don't remember his name) She was in for her eye exam and he was extremely rude to her, telling her that she isn't focusing and paying attention. She could not see what HE thought that she should be able to see. She was so upset by the way he talked to her and he had her in tears. She went to a different eye doctor and found out that she had a brain tumor! THAT'S why she couldn't see it! I will never go there again and I will definitely put the word out! You are an eye doctor and you work for your patients and you need to listen to them and not be so rude! I'm going elsewhere and I already have an appointment to be able to get the Qlosi. Which your eye doctor needs to give you a prescription and CVS will get it in the next day.
