Unger Eye Wellness

I was new to this practice and had a wonderful experience with Dr. Tom Unger. He spent tons of time with me, explained everything clearly to me, addressed my concerns and answered all questions. The exam was seamless and thorough. I'm very particular and am very pleased. They have a new patient!

We love all the staff, they were absolutely wonderful with our 5yr old. She loves Miss Tina and Miss Madison, they kept her engaged in her therapy while still making it fun. She's sad she's done and will miss them so much!

Unger Eye Wellness staff was very friendly, welcoming and professional. Everyone made me feel comfortable and the doctor was kind, patient, and easy to talk to. Great service and excellent eye wear selection. Thank You!

I appreciate their technology, their knowledge, and I like the doctors and technicians. What I don't like is the office management and scheduling. I've had 2 appointments canceled now. One because they scheduled a staff meeting at the same time as my appointment and another because the doctors are all in the office the day of my appointment so the technicians don't have time for me since they need to help the doctors. They also refuse to get everything done in one appointment. I always have to come back a week later for a follow up. I live 40 minutes away and I feel like they do not value my time. Unfortunately I feel like this is more the norm for any office and I don't think things will change if I switch providers. I do plan on asking around and looking for someone closer to me.

Very disappointed in here. I was a new patient and my first visit I waited over an hour before being see. Finally, after an hour and 45 minutes I told them I would have to finish the second half of my appointment at a different date. I come back the next week, this time, only waited 45 minutes for the dr. I was somehow the last one to be seen even though there were appointments after me. By the time the dr finished the exam, the office was closed so I couldn't even order glasses or contacts. They said I could come back tomorrow. I was not wasting my time coming back for a 3rd time. I have also asked for my contact and glasses prescription multiple times and still have not received it. I am new to Troy so I was glad I found an eye doctor close by. The Dr himself is very knowledgeable and fantastic but the overall experience was horrible. I will not be coming back.

I had a wonderful visit today... At Troy Unger Eye Care. My tech today was Lydia and she was very kind very patient and very careful and all the testing that had to be done. I so appreciate that. And then to my wonderful surprise, you're upfront help Leslie help me out and taking the time to re-tighten my glasses which so desperately needed help and love. Had another great experience at Unger Eye care. Had something in my eye for several weeks and they were able to find it and treat it! Would recommend.

The only reason that my family has stayed with Unger for as long as we have is for the convenience of office location. It is more clear now, than ever, that they have their own agenda. Yes, they will try to convince you that their state-of-the-art testing is the only way things should and will be done in their office, for an additional charge. When I tried to respectfully decline additional "wellness" testing at my cost, I was treated very disrespectfully...which I in turn reciprocated, over the phone, after a text exchange that was much less than professional on their end. If I could share the exchange via screenshot, I most certainly would, so you could decide if this is how you'd like to be treated by someone who is going to provide you medical care. I have previously felt this same feeling(over the years), in this office, when I don't choose to do additional testing or buy from their inventory.
