I am 71 years old and have had floaters in my eyes, my whole life. I was always told there was nothing that could be done with them. Last year I had cataract surgery done in both eyes, and afterwards the floaters became even worse. It was to the point that I could not see very well looking at things straight ahead of me. After meeting with my eye doctor and talking to him about my problems, he recommended that I go see doctor Ciulla for his thoughts on getting them removed. The appointments were set up, and Dr. Chula staff is amazing. They worked hard to schedule me at times that were convenient to me. I met Dr. Ciulla. I recognize that he was a gentleman and a very friendly,knowledgeable and caring doctor. He explained to me thoroughly after my examination that my floaters could be easily removed. After having the procedure done on both eyes, I am floater free with a vision of 20-20. The procedure only takes a few minutes and after a couple weeks of doing drops in my eyes and a follow up check up, my vision is perfect. I would highly recommend anyone with vision questions or concerns to contact Dr. Ciulla. He is an amazing and knowledgeable eye surgeon. Dr Ciulla has been my eye specialist since 2005. He and his staff are compassionate, professional and very knowledgeable. He is always well informed on the latest treatments, explains my options and allows me to be a part of the decision for treatment. As a result of his expertise, I have been able to maintain my vision. I wholeheartedly recommend him and can't imagine going to any other ophthalmologist.

I started symptoms of a retina detaching on Tuesday. Seeing spots and flashes, then started losing my peripheral vision. I thought my eye was swollen but in actuality, my retina was detaching. It was a little more noticeable on Saturday but again, I blew it off. I went to dinner with friends at 400pm that Sunday and I quickly was loosing my vision. I went immediately to the ER and they diagnosed me with a 100% detached retina. I cried because I knew what was happening but I refused to believe it. I saw Dr. Ciulla on Monday morning and he confirmed the diagnosis of a retinal detachment.He stated I needed surgery immediately and got me in first thing on Tuesday morning. Dr. Ciulla was cautiously optimistic but advised me he would not know until after surgery. Dr. Ciulla and his staff were beyond wonderful. They were so kind, professional and competent- I have worked in healthcare for over 25 years and I have worked with a lot of physicians and physician practices, and I cannot tell you how well I was treated. I saw Dr. Ciulla again on Wednesday and he stated everything looked fine. Post surgically, he told me all of what he did- I had a Scleral Buckle placed around my eye and then microsurgery. The staff explained to me what the procedure was, how and why this was done. Post surgery, I had to wear eye patches for a while, and in the middle of the healing process, something went wrong. I could hardly blink, it hurt so bad; I called Dr. Ciulla's office and his staff got me in and he worked me in and found that I had scratched my cornea... IDK how but I did. He Rx antibiotic ointment and saw me a week later and stated both the retina and the cornea were healing nicely.It is a scary thing to lose your eye sight and every time any little thing came up, I called the office. It was a daily thing for a few weeks.The office staff were so accepting and answered my questions and scheduled me when I needed checked out.I cannot tell you how wonderful Dr. Ciulla's staff is. Everyone in that office is committed to the highest level of care for each and every patient. I would like to say a special thank you to- Amanda, Cindi, Tammy, Shyla and Allison for caring. I know they are super busy but every time I would call or come in, I was treated with respect, understanding, kindness and a genuine concern for my well being.As I would sit in the waiting room noting the variety and age of the patients in there was a wide spectrum of ages. The staff was so kind and respectful, there were a lot of older folks than me and some of them hard of hearing and most of the time, since the staff recognized them, they would approach and call their name and assisted those in need to the exam room. Today was my last visit with Dr. Ciulla and staff- it was a very bitter sweet day. I got a full release, I have 100% sight in my eye and am now able to get my new lens prescription and I'm back in business. I would highly recommend Dr.Ciulla and his team for your eye care treatment. Dr. Ciulla is what I call a quietly competent doctor. In December my son had a sledding accident which caused the rupture of the lense on his left eye. He was seen by both Dr. Ciulla and Dr. Deitch of the Midwest Eye Institute. After examining my son's eye, an emergency surgery was scheduled for the same day. He was recently seen for his final post-op visit. The surgery was very successful with the best possible outcome. My husband and I are so pleased with the care that he received and we are grateful to have had access to such fine doctors.

Dr. Ciulla fixed my second retinal detachment, and I was barely off work for maybe a long weekend. I had the first fixed by another dr. in Indy, and the recovery time was 8 weeks :( Dr. CIULLA FTW!!! A+++

Dr Ciulla's office is very friendly, professional & they make us feel welcome on every visit. I would highly recommend Dr Ciulla & his staff to anyone.
