Dr. Milan Shah

HORRIBLE OFFICE. Dr. Shah LIED to Marlo in billing saying he TOLD ME how much I would have to pay up front just to get on his surgery schedule, which is a total lie!!! I didn't find out until 23 days before what I THOUGHT was my scheduled surgery tgat he demands $1,100 just to agree to schedule my surgery. I have VMT and detached retina and losing more vision every day. DO NOT TRUST HIM!!!!

I had a retinal detachment on a Saturday and was told by an emergency room eye specialist that sight would probably not return to that eye. I have a profound hearing loss and work full-time at a major pharmaceutical company and have a teenage daughter. A permanent loss in one eye would have caused great difficulty in my communication due to my hearing loss and would make it challenging to parent and work as I rely on my eyes to lip read with my hearing loss. No doctor would see me right away but Dr. Shah fit me in. The surgery was a success and sight fully returned to my eye. I did have a scary instance with something floating in my eye. I emailed him 5:30 in the morning. He (not his staff) immediately emailed back and fit me that day, even though it was a surgery day for him. I see some people are upset about the wait time. This is because he is an amazing doctor and makes time for everyone. They are fit in based on priority. Some people need surgery immediately or will lose their sight permanently. It is clear that he is working all waking hours, because he has a gift and can help so many people. He is efficient and kind in the way that he treats his patients but he made time for all my questions every visit. And I always come with a long list of questions. He was extremely compassionate when I went with the scary issue with my eye and put me immediately at ease. When I had my surgery, there were patients there from all across the Midwest. I feel extremely blessed and fortunate to have such an amazing doctor close to where I live.

Dr. Milan Shah treated an emergency situation for me on a Sunday evening. I don't have adequate words to describe what it meant to me. I appreciated everything about the experience: his willingness to meet me, his thorough exam of the situation, the treatment, his kindness, his generosity of time, and his overall knowledge and expertise. I'm extremely grateful for people like Dr. Milan who have worked so hard to acquire the skills and expertise to keep our eyes healthy, and now works above and beyond to use those skills with excellence. I am forever grateful. Thank you!

Horrible wait times.2-3 hours He was treating his patients as cash cows. Book as many as he can. He did not explain anything to me. I have worked in the medical field for years .i gave him a chance for over a year. And as him being a caring provider take you're professional else where. I fired him today. But his staff is very professional. In spite of their boss. Good luck to the employees.

I was having an eye emergency and Dr. Shaah and his staff rose to the occasion. They had never seen me before, but still got me promptly scheduled. Every staff member was super friendly and kind. They were very professional and made sure I understood what was going on. The appointment was long, but it's because Dr. Shaah is collecting several points of data so that he can accurately treat and diagnose. Dr. Shaah was very professional and friendly as well. He is honest and straightforward...which I like. He's a great listener and was right on point with his recommendations. I would highly recommend this Greenwood eye practice.

This is my second time at this facility with Milan Shah, last year the receptionist was rude and couldn't be bothered with my questions about records or even the tint screen for my glasses. This year I realized I need a driver for these appointments and I had no idea prior. I will never understand why it takes over 3 hours to be seen. But when the doctor came in he read off his findings to his assistant and then said have a nice day. Excuse me, these visits are costly and very important, tell me something. Then he asks what I want to know, I don't know what I don't know so plz just share with me your findings or thoughts. I really felt like I wasted my time away from work to have bare minimum information provided. It made me uncomfortable and concerned if he's actually caring for me issue.

Worst table side manners. To start there take 5 hours for an appointment to see the doctor 15 minutes if your lucky. Have a condition if left untreated I will go blind and after months of trying to get my FMLA paperwork signed and calling every week for a month and three times this week I was told to put eye drops in and go to my local eye doctor for a referral to another doctor. I have spent the past year going to this office in hopes of getting help and all I got was a complete letdown and the reality of losing my eye sight! Now let's talk about table side manners this doctor lacks. Told me I was a lier and that I was t telling the truth over having to rescheduling an appointment because I was sick. Rude every visit. Never knew what I was taking that he prescribed so I ended up making an actual note book charting my meds every week. Just to take it to him at my visits. I wouldn't recommend this guy to my ex husband....

I was sent to Dr Shah, by another ophthalmology center, as an emergency situation with a torn retina. Dr Shah seen me the same day and preformed laser surgery the next day.. after hours! Very caring Dr. He doesnt offer too much info up front, but is very patient to answer any questions. My sight was saved with Dr Shah's quick treatment and knowledge of what he does. I highly recommend him! Wait time at appointments can be lengthy, but worth it to get his expertise and care.
