Dr. Megan Alberts

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Alberts. If you're looking for someone who truly goes above and beyond, she is your optometrist! If you're just looking for a caring smart eye doctor just to do your yearly exams, who has a great personality, hands down, she is your eye doctor. Find her in Evansville, and make an appointment. She is stuck with me as long as she is practicing, (like it or not), and I will follow her wherever her career may take her-within a 100 mile radius. Lol! I've wanted to wear contacts for as long as I can remember. I tried multiple different times with different optometrist, but none was ever able to get me properly fitted. They all tried once or twice, and then got aggravated, and one doctor even told me I have to pick between seeing close or far, but I couldn't have both.I have astigmatism, presbyopia, wear multifocal glasses, with each eye having far different prescription. I eventually gave up, and stopped trying. Then one day, I went into Midwest optometry for a yearly exam to get new glasses. That is where I met the wonderful, Dr. Alberts. I mentioned wanting contacts, but said it's never going to happen. She was quick to respond by saying, "says who?" I told her my experience in the past, and she said let me get you in contacts, can I try? I am up for the challenge! And she truly was--she never gave up. She went the extra mile, which is incredibly rare to find these days. She's is kind, fun, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares. She is rare to find in any healthcare setting, trust me, I know, I work in health care system. I came back at least 10 different times working to find something that worked. Not once did she show any frustration, and she welcomed me with a smile every time. I communicated with her at times through the wonderful staff at Midwest optometry in the Evansville mall! She would even call other stores looking for prescriptions if she didn't have it in stock! She continued to listen to me, while adjusting my prescription, despite me telling her we are so close many times. She tried multiple different brands. Yes, I worked for it too, and I didn't give up either, but it was what I wanted. She worked for it because she cared, out of the kindness of her heart, and got nothing out of it in return. Guess what!!! I now have contacts!!!!!! I can see close, far, and at night! I didn't have to pick between seeing close up or far, . I just had to find the right eye doctor!! My vision is more crisp than it was with glasses. She made it happen, and I am forever grateful! I hate glasses, but before had no choice.:) And one day, i hope I can help her as much as she has helped me. From: Your most complex patient ever! But she has to admit, I warned her day 1. :) hehe
