Preferred EyeCare - New Castle

I found the doctor at Preferred EyeCare to be friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I would recommend them.

Dr Stolle is amazing. The ladies in the front office were polite and helpful. I will not go anywhere else for my eye needs. My new glasses are so cute!!

My new glasses fit perfectly, great quality, and no adapting to a new pare like happens many times.

No happy at all with this place. The doctor is good but the lady who helps pick out the glasses does NOT tell you the truth about what is covered by insurance and what is not. I am very unhappy with the extra charges that she has me pay for all because insurance doesn't cover the extra stuff she did NOT tell us about. Very disappointed. Will not be back

My 3 year old had a vision screening done at her preschool. I set up appointment immediately with preferred eye care. They are the only office in New Castle that will take her age group. My daughter is very shy. The reception/front office staff were very sweet and helpful. The lady that called us back ( like a tech maybe? Sorry idk her job title) was very patient while trying to get my daughters pictures. My daughter was so quiet the entire time and this woman was so kind and patient with her when trying to get any type of response with the letters and pictures. The doctor was great! She made my daughter feel comfortable. She talked directly to her and explained to her everything that she was doing. My daughter does have to have glasses and the woman that helped us pick out the pair my baby wanted was very helpful and patient as well. Would absolutely recommend this place if your toddler or child needs glasses!

Kind Doctor and staff, plenty of options (even if it's limited by your insurance you will find something), and the time it took between my appointment and receiving my glasses was very rapid and appreciated!

I've been a patient of Preferred Eye Care for years. Until my last vision check-up, I was pleased with the way Preferred Eye Care took care of my vision. The staff were always friendly and professional. The doctor always thoroughly explained all aspects of the exams and she is very kind. A few years ago, we discussed the benefits of using contact lenses. I was told that I would be charged a $95 fitting fee for the contacts. The reason for the fee was because a staff member would be teaching me how to put the contacts in and remove them. I felt that fee was reasonable because of the possibility of the patient having difficulties with using the contacts thereby taking up a lot of time. It's been approximately 2 years since I started wearing contacts, so at my last appointment the doctor handed me a pair of contacts and asked me to put them in. I put them right in, she asked me how they felt and then proceeded to charge me $95 for a contact lense fitting. The entire "fitting" took less than 5 minutes. The $95 was in addition to the standard eye exam costs and the costs of the contacts and the glasses. The technician that tallied up my bill at the end of my appointment was a slovenly young man who looked as if he rolled out of bed, skipped anything to do with hygiene, threw on yesterday's dirty clothes and then came to work. Truthfully, I had no idea he was an employee of the clinic until he spoke to me. The more I thought about my last appointment, the more I was certain there must have been some sort of mistake. I decided to call the office about what I was charged for my so called fitting. The lady who answered the phone was rude and short with me. She snapped at me stating that ALL eye clinics charge a fitting fee each time. I decided to do some research. I called every eye clinic in the area and asked about the contact lenses fitting fee. While most charge a fitting fee the first time, NO OTHER eye clinic in the area charges $95 each time a contact lenses prescription is written. I couldn't even find another local optician that charges $95 the first time. Because of the outrageous fees, unhygienic and unprofessional staff, my next eye exam will be at a different vision clinic.
