Everything from start to finish a mess. Recommend going elsewhere. Not a good place. Doctors are great very knowledgeable and the doctors not a problem at all. but behind the scene and process horrible. Never sent script to pharmacy on a Friday now have to wait til Monday. Didn't tell me they move to somewhere else google still has old address online so be aware of that was late to appointment because of this. I get there women complaining about her medications. Swollen eye lid and can't get any relief til Monday n pray they send script cause at this point not sure I trust them is n understatement. Given I witnessed a women complaining in front of me trying to check in n now here I am complaining of same thing definitely not a Coincidence. Good luck if you choose to go here.

Made appointments for myself and my wife,but when we arrived they only showed 1 appointment for my wife. After waiting over an hour before being seen very little was accomplished. The technician did the eye test and when Dr. Connell came in he looked in my eyes with a light and that was it. He did not recheck anything that the tech did and I was told to come back in 3 months. I was ordered glasses by the technician's exam which don't seem to be correct and then when we were ready to leave the guys argued that the refractive fee is never covered by insurance which we know for a fact it is if turned in to the proper insurance. I then was tired of arguing and said just cancel the eye glasses and also the 3 month appointment. We left to be called a couple weeks later that my glasses were in. I then received a bill for the refraction fee and after multiple phone calls and left messages to billing I was finally able to reach someone. We were told they realized their mistake and it should be fixed. I also while on the phone asked if they would check to make sure the follow up appointment had been canceled which it was not. I would never recommend this office for anything!!

If I could give zero stars I would, unfortunately that is not an option. I went in for an eye exam and somehow left with only an updated prescription for glasses. I don't wear glasses I wear contact lenses, which I said during the exam when questioned. I was told that I would need to come in and pay for another exam if I wished to have an updated contact lens prescription. Cataract & Laser Institute are almost impossible to get ahold of, inept at their jobs, I won't be returning. My father went in the same week as I did and he asked for (and received!) an updated glasses prescription after his exam. His exam results were incorrect ( whether that's from poor testing or human error when noting them in his chart, I can't say). He took his prescription to a third party source and had glasses made. When he got them he couldn't see, so the store made him new ones assuming it was their error. Come to find out it wasn't the stores problem, it was Cataract & Laser Institute of Plainfield, Indiana's fault because his results from his eye exam were incorrect. Cataract and Laser Institute had him come in for a new exam and gave him a different prescription and then BILLED HIM FOR THE SECOND EXAM TOO, even though it was less than 3 months since his prior exam when they MADE A MISTAKE. He has filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office and the Better Business Bureau. STAY AWAY FROM CATARACT & LASER INSTITUTE, unless you want to waste your time and money!!!

Dr. McPike was great and diagnosed my problem within minutes. My issue is with the fact that it is darn near impossible to get someone on the phone to make appointments or to even follow up with you. They were supposed to reach out to schedule my laser surgery. Most times when you call there is no answer and it goes to voicemail. If you leave a message, no one ever calls you back. Then if they do answer they may put you on hold for upwards of 10 minutes maybe even multiple times before coming back. That is no way to run a business people! Added 11/24/25 I am going to keep adding to this review until I get my eye surgery. No phone call back from voice messages and they don't answer the phone and when I gave up and drove up there they told me it takes two friggin weeks to refer me to an eye surgeon! Why does it take 2 weeks to make a phone call!!!

January 2026: Dr. McPike goes the extra mile every single visit. I value his thoroughness and attention to detail as he talks through his exam, diagnosis process, the results, and next steps. He is a very good doctor. When the current company bought this office from previous owner Dr Whipple they seemingly replaced the support staff with incompetence because support service fell to zero and resulted in my earlier 0 star review below. Previous review: 2025 I'm reaching out here in the hope that this message reaches you directly. This office has not submitted the insurance prior authorization approval for the prescription you wrote back in January -- and it's now April. The pain is constant and difficult to endure. Please, I need your help to resolve this. I respectfully ask that you or your team follow up as soon as possible to address these outstanding issues and help relieve this ongoing pain.

The doctors are very passionate about their patients and want to make sure they are educated about any eye issues. Staff is friendly and feels like family. - This review posted 2 months ago was from the Administrator/Office Manager. Her review couldn't be further from the truth. They absolutely do NOT care about employees or patients. If you are a current patient here I'd look for another Ophthalmologist. Dr Whipple sold his practice to a "Chain". This is not what it was before he sold it.

My wife's appointment. Half hour behind scheduled appointment time. Although patients are asked to be there 15-20 before appointment. One receptionist disappeared several times, while I was in the lobby waiting area for nearly 2 hours. The doctors have no knowledge of scheduling, when the say they want to see a patient back on a date but there's no opening on the day they want to see the patient.

From the front desk to Dr. Connell, Brandi, and Cindi everyone was informative, helpful and professional. It's very busy, but I was made to feel comfortable. Great place.
