The front staff here is wonderful - they are always kind, welcoming, and very accommodating. I truly appreciate their accountability and friendliness whether I come in alone or with my son. This review has nothing to do with them, because they have always been great. Unfortunately, my experience with the doctor and optical side of the office has been very disappointing. We had no other options in Scott County for providers who accepted our insurance, so we continued to come here for the last three years. The male doctor's bedside manner is very unusual - he is standoffish and often comes across as rude. While I understand that not every doctor has a warm personality, the bigger concern is the quality of care. My son was prescribed the completely wrong glasses prescription on two separate occasions. Each time, he refused to wear them because he could see better without them or said they were uncomfortable. I tried to trust the process, but the fact that this happened twice was concerning. When his glasses broke (twice due to manufacturing issues, according to the staff), the woman who handles frames and lenses was unbelievably rude. She was pushy about giving my child glasses in a color he did not want, and when we chose to wait a week for the right color, she made us feel like bad parents for letting him wear a taped pair in the meantime. I will not send my five-year-old to school in glasses that make him uncomfortable or open him up to teasing, and I don't appreciate being pressured like that. The most alarming experience was when the doctor told us my son's eye looked like it was "about to pop out of the socket," which completely terrified us. We immediately took time off work to rush him to a specialist, only to be told there was nothing wrong at all. Most recently, after seeing a new provider for his semiannual exam, I learned that my son has been wearing the wrong prescription this whole time - one that actually weakened his weaker eye. Now we are paying out of pocket for corrective lenses and follow-up care with a pediatric ophthalmologist to try to undo the damage. It's very disappointing to have put my trust in this office for three years only to learn that my child's vision has been harmed rather than helped. With so few healthcare options in Scott County, I expected better. Sadly, I cannot recommend this provider for children's eye care.

Dr Angie Buchanan is amazing!! She cares and listens. She goes above and beyond to help you with any issues or problems you have! I recommend her and VisionFirst! They are a wonderful group of people

While I haven't always had the most perfect service here, they have made some great improvements and I am very please. Infact, recently I made an appointment for my 5 year old son after he hit his head right by his eye and ended up with a black eye. I wanted to make sure he hadn't damaged his vision. I was taken verry seriously and his vision was thoroughly checked. I was very grateful for the thorough exams and the fact that they didn't brush off my concerns. Very happy and would recommend.

First eye doctor I have been too in years that helped me see better. They know what their doing. Very friendly. They listen to what you tell them and check out every concern you have. Great and true professionals.

Everyone in this office is very caring and helpful. Been coming here for years... if you are looking for a new optometrist... I recommend giving them a try!

Didn't get my prescription right, sent glasses back and came back worse, keep getting the runaround on everything after talking to main manager

Awesome place with awesome staff! Dr. Angie was amazing and helped me with my prescription and was very personable. If I ever need another appointment or know someone that needs one, I'll absolutely be returning/recommending VisionFirst in Scottsburg! It's *CRYSTAL CLEAR* (pun intended) that they care about their patients

I go here and recently took my daughter for her first eye exam and she was so nervous, they were all so friendly and I had my younger daughter with us and they brought her crayons and didn't mind her even though she is very rambunctious. Definitely recommend.
