LTF Eye Clinics

Update (11/10) Dr Chopra was great, took her time and got my teen son comfortable and thoroughly checked up and lined up with a prescription and went on over the the optical side for glasses fitting. Snow day and schools are canceled yet staff and us all their appointments all showed up. Impressed the lot was clean for easy parking and front desk was courteous and very busy but happily doing their job. Scheduled an appointment for my son, they checked if our insurance was in-network and were prompt to schedule us within 2 weeks. Appointment scheduling was smooth good experience, hoping to update this after the appointment with a continued good review because I'm really hoping there's a good local place with good service - we got scheduled it with Dr. Choppra.

I had gone to LTF for over 25 years, and only switched recently to a provider who specializes in my pediatric degenerative disease. I've seen a lot of doctors throughout my life because of this. Dr. Taglia is the most knowledgeable and sympathetic glaucoma specialist in the area, and I would fully trust him if you need surgery. Dr Lewinsky is also a wonderful and patient doctor. If you want the best in NWI, this is the place to go. Just know that when you are seeing the best doctors, you'll need to wait as they are in high demand. They are worth the wait in the long run.

I always give great reviews when they are warranted however if I receive less than average I will rate those accordingly. I went to LTF eye clinic last evening because I have been having issues with swelling and itching in one of my eyes. When I looked up the clinic on google it said they were open but closed at 6. I arrived at about 5:20 PM. I walked into the clinic and there was a lady behind the desk who I asked if I could possibly see one of the Drs because I was having an issue with my eyes. She looked at me like I had two heads and said "we're not even open". I told her well I just walked in and saw the clinic was open until 6. She said "no, we close at 5". I asked her if she had any other suggestions as to where I could go and her response was simply NO! The whole time she was speaking she had a nasty look on her face and was not the least bit concerned enough to help with any suggestions! I'm sorry but that is not acceptable. Just thought the Drs should know who they have working for them!

I went in to pickup a referral I spoke to a nurse about. The front receptionist said she didn't know what I was talking about. So I called the other doctors receptionist to which the LTF receptionist became angry and took two people who were mortified at her behavior. The other receptionist was horrified on the phone at the other clinic she apologized for the LTF staff. I will never step foot in that place again unprofessional and aggressive.

One Star I am absolutely furious with LTF Eye Clinics. They canceled my daughter's appointment one hour before it was scheduled -- after I had already taken her out of school. Then they tried to reschedule her for two weeks later. That's outrageous. My daughter has been dealing with headaches and major changes in her vision, and this appointment was critical and was supposed to help us get answers. Dr. Chopra said her son was sick, and while I understand emergencies happen, this kind of last-minute cancellation is completely unacceptable. I said that I would be willing to see anybody! When I told the receptionist on the phone that I'd pulled her from school, she said, "I can't help that." No apology. No accountability. Just complete disregard for our time and urgency. I even told her that we live five minutes down the road and would drop everything to come in if they had an opening -- that's how serious this is. But she said they don't even have a cancellation list. I already had an appointment separate for myself and my other daughter in the afternoon, daughter that was having a really bad issues first by herself! So after I expressed to the receptionist that two weeks out is unacceptable my only option they gave was 9:45 the same day I have my appointment and my other daughter -- meaning I now have to make two separate trips in one day. If I canceled an hour before, I'm sure I would have been charged. But they can cancel on us with no consequences, no empathy, and no effort to make it right? We rearranged our entire day for this. This is not how you treat families? This is not how you run a medical practice? We rearranged our entire day for this. You're gonna tell me that there was not any emergency appointments? I'm seriously reconsidering whether this is the right clinic for us. Patients deserve better. There is a screenshot of what Copilot told me about who to avoid And lo and behold and no Surprise there is LTF?!! What does it say? Last-minute cancellations?

So they switched my moms doctor, The first nurse was nice polite. The doc comes in says who is this a friend or something like that I'm obviously her daughter but ok. Then the second nurse comes in slams the door umm ok . Then I ask the doc about a medication he proceeds to go I don't care umm rude but sure. Then the nurse pushes my moms head no I think this place is trash now. Not professional at all I will be calling to transfer her closer to home this week. Too aggressive and rude for my liking.

I have been going here for over 20 years. I want to start by saying Dr Ireland is fantastic and this review has absolutely nothing to do with him. Unfortunately that is all the good I have to say about this place. I understand policy, but to refusing to provide me information as simple my prescription (that I had to pay for from having a previous exam) is not the way any medical professional should do business. Regardless if it is expired or not, that is withholding medical records and it is unethical and illegal under Federal, HIPPA, and FTC laws. My reason for needing my records is to refill 1 box of contacts as my eyes have different prescriptions. Unfortunately in a recent move I lost a box for my left eye. The optical team claimed they could not provide me with my medical information (again information that I paid for via my last exam) because it expired a few months back. The only time a medical professional is LEGALLY allowed to withhold that information is when they have reason to believe it will cause physical or mental health harm to the patient or others. Now I'm going to say me not being able to reliably see out of an entire ass eye is way worse for myself and others than me using data that is not even 2 years old (which for many offices is industry standard). I currently do not have insurance as I recently turned 26 but I am working on that. Waiting weeks and then spending hundreds on a new eye exam just to get the same results to then pay more to get the contacts I am willing to buy TODAY is not something that is reasonable or ethical. When I then asked for my records so I could have a copy for when I can get into a new Dr once I have insurance they said they can not provide them to me and that they could only fax them over to the new Dr. This policy is bullshit and is willing to do whatever they can to send you in a goose chase till you give up and go back to them. These people don't care about you. If they did they wouldn't withhold this information. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. If you want to be in the medical field, you should do it because you are passionate and love helping people instead of seeing them as numbers and dollar signs.

Went there today for the first time as a new patient. I waited over 2 hours to be seen and was never offered the opportunity to buy contacts through them, I was only given a prescription. Dr. Burton and Crystal the tech were very nice and they are the only reason I am giving this rating.
