I have very sensitive eyes and they tend to clamp shut very tightly when anything comes near them. With my optometrist in Merrillville, this has never been a problem. He has always been reassuring and given me a few moments to relax and get eye drops in. However, I needed an ophthalmologist and saw Dr. (Scott) Buck. When he saw how much trouble I have with sensitivity, he made the comments that I was a problem child who would not let him do any kind of testing. Instead of giving me a moment to see if I could relax, he instead decided to force my eye open, while saying "this won't hurt unless you make me hurt you." And then he said that his fingers were tired from trying to open my eye. You might consider this a joke, except one "joke" would have been enough, not to keep going on about it. 12 hours later the area around my eye still hurt from him forcing it, and for several days there was light bruising visible. The nurse who took my eye pressure measurements was pretty curt as well. I will not be returning.
