Terry Huseman

Dr. Huseman was my eye doctor for 40 years so knowing he's retired now is understandable, but I'll definitely miss him because anyone else who has examined my eyes has never been able to get my prescription as good as Dr. Huseman always does but I'll continue going to his clinic at Merle Hay Mall for my regular eye exams because of how good they've treated me over the years. When I first met Dr Huseman, I had no eye insurance and no money, I couldn't pass the exam for my driver's test and found out from Dr Huseman that I was severely nearsighted with bad astigmatisms and severe light sensitivity. I don't remember who told me to call The Lions Club of Iowa but they helped me and referred me to Dr Huseman's office for a free eye exam and some free glasses. He literally changed my life and my whole world because I could see clearly for the first time in my entire life. If you've ever gone without corrective lenses for any length of time not knowing that you needed glasses and then first put on glasses to see a whole new world, you'd understand how this affects someone. That was 40 years ago and I've never forgotten! Recently I suffered a severe eye issue, I woke up to find I had became almost totally blind overnight and I didn't know what happened, I was really scared but Dr Huseman got me right in and he diagnosed the problem, then referred me to get surgery. I'm really grateful. I was told by his receptionist that I got pretty lucky to see him that day because that was his last day he'd be working in the office and would officially now be totally retired. Dr. Huseman told me during our visit that he's now busy enjoying life and doing all the things he missed out on over the years while growing his 2 busy Optometrist offices and both Lens Crafters Store locations at Merle Hay Mall and Valley West Mall. It's definitely well earned and even more well deserved!

Terry Huseman has always been an excellent Eye doctor. He has been my eye doctor for many many many years. Thank you & your staff for taking great care of my eyes! JQuinnett
