I love my eye doctor and I always appreciate how helpful and respectful he is! However after I picked my glasses out i went back to the front desk and overheard the lady that helped me with my glasses talking about how they looked bad on me. I don't care about other peoples opinion, however in a professional environment you should tell your employee's to wait until the customers leave before they start talking about them.
I've always had extremely professional, knowledgeable caring interactions with the Staff and Doctors. They are very personable and make it a priority that you have what you want and need to assure you have the best care possible.
I would certainly recommend them .
They cater to a variety of clients ,Children to Adults if they can't accommodate you they will find a professional to address your specific needs.
To be fair, I use this as my eye clinic, and I normally have good experiences, but there are two doctors, and my doctor, I love, and the ladies at the desk have all been very friendly.
Recently, they must have hired a new receptionist, and she has no customer service phone skills. She acted uninterested while making the appointment, very monotone and not cheerful, and when I would clarify information, she acted annoyed. When she would look for an appointment, she was quiet on the phone for a long time. I asked if she was still there, and she would say she's looking for an appointment. Phone customer service is not hard. You act pleased that they called, you thank for their business, and on long holds, you say what you'll be doing, and frequently say you're still looking and apologize for the wait. Now, granted, when we showed up in person, all the ladies were friendly. Somebody just needs to seriously work on their phone skills. I also had our phone conversation on speakerphone while looking at my calendar, and the other person in the room shared my views. I stated this appointment would be for a four year old, and asked what methods they employed to handle an appointment with a child. She said they have a tv, and that was all that was said.
Next problem with the appointment and the biggest problem: When making the appointment for my four year old, I asked for the doctor that would be the best with kids, and they assigned me to Dr. Hayden. From the moment he walked in the room, he never smiled, he retained this demeanor from walking in till the end that this appointment was a waste of his precious time. He was arrogant and kept trying the same method to get my child to do something. When dealing with children, you need to smile, be happy, try different crazy methods to help the kid do what you need. Plus, what added to my disappointment is he would insult my child and say, you need to come back when he can cooperate, three times.
He also kept showing him abstract images, and abstract can be a little harder for young ones. I said he's good at letters, but he never tried that method. I asked about this tv the receptionist told me about, and he said he would have to be able to put his head up on the machine. First off, they never told me that my child would have to use those scary machines they put up to your faces. There was a day in age when they didn't have those machines. And I know for a fact because the other doctor in the practice does not use the machine and pulls little circle lenses out of a file and holds up to their face. He did this on me for my first appointment with him, and I appreciated this method because of the "old-fashioned-ness" of it. Don't know why they didn't assign me to him.
Frankly, I would not take your children to Dr. Hayden. If you can get passed the phone call of making the appointment, getting in the door is not so bad, especially if you see the other doctor. Adults may want to pass on this guy too.
Customer service was good and Dr Hayden was great but they close earlier than what they tell you. I have tried 2 times to pick up my contacts from them already with the doors being locked before 5, what's the point of ordering anything if I can't get them?!
