Urbandale Eye Care

Dr. Kyler saw my two year old son at the recommendation of our pediatrician. She was so good with him, and as a result he was relaxed and happy the entire time and she was able to complete a thorough exam--it was so smooth and easy. The office was timely in following up with the results of his exam. We'd highly recommend Urbandale Eye Care and Dr. Kyler for pediatric (and all other!) appointments!

I took my 2yo daughter for choosing eyeglasses and the optician Nancy was so caring and patient with us at the initial visit. They even stayed an extra half an hour after they were supposed to close. I'm updating this review after having a few more situations at this place. It's been a struggle to get the right glasses for my daughter. At first they took over 3 weeks to deliver the original glasses because they had a scratch and they had to redo it. Then we needed to replace her prescription due to a doctor change and again another 3 weeks to deliver because the lenses weren't the right size then when they were ready the lenses were easily popping out of the frames like they didn't fit. They said it would send to factory to make a new one in a bigger frame and again it took over 3 weeks to get ready. When they were finally ready they looked even worse than the ones before. It has been a series of disappointments with the service unfortunately.

Highly recommend this office, as entire family has received the best of care past couple of years. Dr. Kyler is extremely patient and caring, never in a rush and takes the time to explain things in detail. Everyone on staff is professional, courteous and helpful

Watch your bill! They will promise discounts to get you to spend money and then not credit them on your bill!!! Paid for a new pair of glass (with insurance) and a new pair of lenses for existing frames (out of pocket) - nearly $800 paid in advance. Glasses were never ordered! I waited three weeks and then called to check on them - and was told by the staff that I had not been in the office since last year! When I mentioned the charge to my card - they were finally able to find my visit and this is how it was discovered that the glasses had never been ordered! If I hadn't called I'd still be waiting! When I questioned the promised discounts on my bill, I was met with snarky comments from the staff - and after two phone calls, and two visits regarding my questions, they only extended an apology for the "confusion" after leaving a negative review on their Facebook page. I've paid nearly $1,000 (upfront fees + billed services) and was still planning on ordering contact lenses. Those will definitely be purchased elsewhere now!

We had a wonderful experience with Nancy. We felt that she went above and beyond to take care of us. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Love the people there, friendliest service, everyone makes you feel welcome and the staff not only fit the job but also know what they are doing and look like it too! Great eye place!

Edit: Excellent doctors, some issues with ordering lenses but staff are always friendly and helpful.
